I have noticed that the worthless, able-bodied, young, lazy, cretinous, panhandlers on FM1960 have gotten increasingly aggressive in their tactics. I have witnessed them running into intersections and actually banging on car windows. When they don't get what they want, they scowl and move on to the next vehicle. Fortunately for them, they have yet to bang on my window. Could be that they actually realize that the guy with the bald head, windows down, Metallica blaring, middle finger waving, is not their "target audience". At the intersection of 290 and 1960, on each corner, young, able bodied, expensive shoe wearing, men are, ehem, "collecting donations for their church". Ha, ask 'em where their church is located and they can't tell you. Ask them the denomination of their church, they can't tell you. Ask them if God would rather them go build something for their church or would God rather them beg for money for their church and they turn around and walk off.

I've seen this too. How people are able to live with themselves after using a church scam is beyond my comprehension. Where is shame finally met in a person like that??

Much like you, I enjoy making firm eye contact with an extended middle finger... something about a government vehicle and a uniform turns them away I guess.....

Check out the underpass at BW8 and HW249. There is a whole colony there. They take turns on the corners and go in a rotation. It appears to be a well oiled begging machine.

Aaaaghhhh, yes, the BW8-249 intersection. One of my personal favorites. As you might have guessed, I'm not a fan of beggar. I enjoy making u-turn's around that underpass on my Harley, holding the clutch while revving the gas. Vance & Hines + underpass = Noise that will awake even the drunkest, sleeping (passed out) "colonist".

I was very tempted yesterday to give, more tempted than I have been in awhile. On the corner of 249 and Jones there was a young white guy holding a sign up that said Iraq war veteran. He looked like a soldier, looked like he had just gotten a fresh USMC haircut. He had a military looking duffel next to him. F'ck I wanted to help but f'ck you cant trust anyone, what do you do?

I was outside replacing a gate with my kids. Up walks a guy, clean, neat haircut, seemed healthy. In Spanish, he asks me if he could have some money for some food. I give him the old "I don't speak Spanish or even have an idea what you are talking about" shrug of the shoulders. He asks again and I say "no thanks" and wave my hand.

Once he's out of hearing distance, I tell my kids what he said and ask them what they noticed. They don't answer fast enough for my liking, probably don't want to give the wrong answer or could just be stupid, I dunno. So I tell them.

Here I am working my ass off, dirty, sweaty, and hot. This guy walks up and asks for money. Not hey, do you need any help, I'm broke and need money for food. Not hey, can I help you in exchange for a meal. Not even hey, would you be so kind as to throw me a dog biscuit. Just straight out can I have some money.
