    Republic Of Texas

    THE NATION of TEXAS

In case things get a little tough during the next few months we Texans have a plan...

Maybe you don't know it, but Texas is the only state with a legal right to secede from the Union . (Reference the Texas-American Annexation Treaty of 1848.)

We Texans love y'all Americans, but we'll probably have to take action since Barack Obama won the election and is now the President of the U.S.A. We'll miss ya'll though.

    Here is what CAN happen:

    1. Barack Hussein Obama, after becoming the President of the United States , begins to try and create a socialist country, then Texas announces that it is going to secede from the Union .

    2. George W. Bush becomes the President of the Republic of Texas.

You might not think that he talks too pretty, but we haven't had another terrorist attack and the economy was fine until the effects of the Democrats lowering the qualifications for home loans came home to roost.

So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic?

    1. NASA is just south of Houston , Texas . We will control the space industry.

    2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States ..

    3. Defense Industry--we have over 65% of it..

The term "Don't mess with Texas ," will take on a whole new meaning.

    4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. What will the other states do? Gee, we don't know. Why not ask Obama?

    5. Natural Gas - again, we have all we need and it's too bad about those Northern States. John Kerry and Al Gore will just have to figure out a way to keep them warm...

    6. Computer Industry - we lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications equipment - small companies like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Misconduct, Dallas Semiconductor, Nortel, Alcatel, etc. The list goes on and on.

    7. Medical Care - We have the research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world, as well as other large health centers. The Houston Medical Center alone employees over 65,000 people.

    8. We have enough colleges to keep educating and making smarter citizens: University of Texas , Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas Christian, Rice, SMU, University of Dallas , University of Houston , Baylor, UNT ( University of NorthTexas ), Texas Women's University, etc. Ivy grows better in the South anyway.

    9. We have an intelligent and energetic work force and it isn't restricted by a bunch of unions. Here in Texas , we are a Right to Work State and, therefore, it's every man and woman for themselves. We just go out and get the job done. And if we don't like the way one company operates, we get a job somewhere else.

    10. We have essential control of the paper, plastics, and insurance industries, etc.

    11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, and several military bases. We don't have an Army, but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours if we need one. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over the Texas Rangers.

    12. We are totally self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs, and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables, and let's not forget seafood from the Gulf. Also, everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. We don't need any food.

    13. Three of the ten largest cities in the United States , and twenty-three of the 100 largest cities in the United States are located in Texas . And Texas also has more land than California , New York , New Jersey , Connecticut , Delaware , Hawaii , Massachusetts ,
Maryland, Rhode Island , and Vermont combined.

    14. Trade: Three of the ten largest ports in the United States are located in Texas .

    15. We also manufacture cars down here, but we don't need to. You see, nothing rusts in Texas so our vehicles stay beautiful and run well for decades.

This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of Texas in good shape.. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have.

Now to the rest of you folks in the United States under President Obama:

Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Obama will be able to drive around in his big 9 mpg SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes.
You won't have any TV as the Space Center in Houston will cut off satellite communications.

You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes, but since Mr. Obama has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas as long as you survive the 2000 years it will take to get enough heat from Global Warming.

In other words, the rest of ya'll in the USA are screwed!

    Signed, The People of Texas

P.S. This is not a threatening letter - just a note to give you something to think about!

Sleep well tonight 'cause the eyes of Texas are on YOU!!

    One Nation Under God!!

    ''Life's tough...it's even tougher if you're stupid.''

I was fine with pretty much everything you said except your choice for President of Texas. We need someone honorable who will actually uphold and defend the Constitution.

Here we go again, Obamma is raping the Constitution like no other president in history. But it's that evil Patriot Act under Bush that's really bad. We are losing Soldiers worse than ever in Afghanstan but Bush LIED, people DIED in Iraq. Those Tin-Foil hats are getting tight.

Under Bush, terrorists were actually treated like, well like TERRORISTS, but now under Obamma we people are being tortured and terrorists are set free.

My opinion, and opinions are like Aholes, everyone has one and they occasionally stink - my opinion is George W Bush is among the BEST presidents we have ever had. Not perfect, like FDR, JFK, or Slick Willie, but pretty darn good.

He would be my choice for President of the Republic of Texas.

This is wishful thinking at best. Just because stuff is in the state does not mean it will remain.

Ron Paul would make a much better choice for President than George Bush.

Fellow Texans, I put this out to merely show that in Texas, we are self-sufficient. Obviously, it would be up to us to elect a President of the Republic. I would merely vote for W to fill that spot.

1911: I am not quite sure I understand why you believe our means at self-sufficiency would not remain in the event we would secede? I would think our means would place us in a very "leverageable" position to trade and commerce.

Thanks for the responses. I am somewhat disappointed there is not more since "at writing" there have been 50 views.

That's exactly who I had in mind when I said we need someone honorable who will actually uphold and defend the Constitution. His son Rand would be good, and so would Peter Schiff or Adam Kokesh, if we could persuade them to leave their respective states.

Bloody civil war is one likely possible outcome of secession. Fed.gov is not likely to let us go without a fight.

From the way Ron Paul performed in the presidential debates .... I would rather vote for someone who wants us to WIN wars.

Probably because this (or one very similar was posted before http://www.texasguntalk.com/forums/...shiloh-shooting-range/5661-country-texas.html ) and we tend to have this discussion semi-frequently on here. To be honest, while I am for secession, I do not see it happening anywhere in the near future. Sure, people are pissed, but not enough people will do anything about it.

What "right" would the federal government have to fight against us for seceding, rather than mere arrogance, which is substantial? Our right was agreed upon by the federal government when Texas entered the Union. Could this be a reason "Obamma" wants a "civilian defense force" as discussed on Glenn Beck last night? Could be. But do you really think the Texas mindset would allow such an invasion?

    I agree....

I do not see it happening either in the near future. However, if you have been watching Glenn Beck, it appears the drive for socialist control is accelerating. When the socialist dirtbags over-reach, like they have with healthcare, and begin to make further enrodes into our freedom, Texans will "wake up and smell the coffee". One of the objectives we should aspire to in this forum, is to help our fellow Texans in fact smell that coffee as its brewing, not when it is ready to be consumed.

Obama is going to try to cram as much garbage down our throats as possible. Expect a major push for amnesty for illegals. Expect all kinds of BS.

True, but tell me something. How hard would the rest of the country fight to keep us from dissolving the union? Sure, there are other states that want to secede, but many would dry up if they did as they are both land-locked and don't have enough industry to support themselves without the rest of the country to ship to.

And lets face it, a peaceful secession is not in the cards anymore than it was when the Civil War was going on before. SO now you have to try and figure out how many people are going to be able/willing to fight when you have the U.S. military rolling tanks and flying jets with orders to stop all rebellions. Sure, we'll get some members of our armed forces who will refuse and may join the Texan side, but for the most part, they will follow orders. I don't think there are enough people in Texas who are pissed enough to really stand up and fight. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure you can find a fairly large group of people who would fight...I just don't think it would be large enough.

Now, back to the idea of if the US just let us walk away without bloodshed. Do you really think they would let us continue to sell our goods to the rest of the U.S. without massive import taxes? And that's stating they even allow us to sell our goods there in the first place. The answer IMO...NO. They would more than likely try to "punish" us for leaving in the first place by pushing us aside in hopes that we will come crawling back on our hands and knees.

If all you are aiming for is could we survive on our own if we were "let go" under the best of circumstances...then I believe yes we could. The problem is it will never be under a best of circumstances situation. I am supposed to be working right now...lol...and so will probably add more later.

I think the feds would want all the stuff that is in these military bases here and they would be willing to fight to get that stuff back. I don't think they would get it back tho. I think most of equipment would be on our side when everything was said and done.

If you have been watching Glen Beck this week you might have heard that they are getting ready to take over the internet,I don't know if that will happen or not but if it does then they will have stopped our talking with each other and getting together. We need to form a way of messaging each other with other people of like minds, all of us who love our country but love our state more.We must be willing to risk it all,I know I am.Long live Texas.sj

    Let them try.....

but you have a point. The socialist dregs are beginning to overreach. If they think the healthcare reaction was significant, wait till they see the reaction when they attempt to take our guns and our means of communication. They need to remember what Yamamoto said after Pearl Harbor, "I think we have awaken a sleeping giant"...let them try.

I have served this country, and I love it deeply. But I did not leave drops of my blood in the desert of Kuwait for a country that I am beginning not to recognize. God forbid I never thought I would say this. But "Obama's country is not what I fought for and almost gave my life to protect". Furthermore, we all must remember, particularly for those of us who have served in the armed forces - we took an oath to defend the Constitution against enemies foreign and domestic...didn't say the United States of America, if I recall. Just a little suttle point! The Socialist Dregs better remember that because I can assure you, the United States Marine Corps has not and will never forget that oath.

This just cropped up today and frankly it has me worried. We would be left totally "in the dark", and many businesses who utilize the internet, would be shut down.

It sounds crazy but who would have ever thought someone could actually fly airplanes into buildings. Who would have ever thought a Black Muslim, and a gang of tax cheats could be running the country.

    Hmmmmmm.
