Gee, seems like there's a Presidential candidate that practices similar things.... UGH.

Don't buy everything you read, the others don't always wear a lapel pin, and honestly, it's about what you do as president that measures your resolve as an American. George Washington didn't wear a lapel pin, neither did Roosevelt, Truman, and numerous others.

I don't support Obama's policies, nor will I vote for him, but let's be fair about the dirt.

Uh, dude there is a bit more to Obama's anti-American beliefs than that. I remember reading somewhere (here I think) that he wants to change the lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner because they aren't PC enough for his @ss.

A little update I have learned that this happened just after 9-11 so it is a little old.
I think that makes it even more important. If there was ever a time to show support for America that was the time.

Sometimes it's too easy, or we're too quick to take stories like this out of context....which I believe is the case here.

The media likes it when we're puppets like that. They can prove to their boss people read their stuff and get a raise.

If that's true, it's just the tip of his socialist iceberg.

If that's true, it's just the tip of his socialist iceberg.

Judging by various comments he's made in the past, he's basically a self-described apologist for America. True, bad stuff has happened in this country in the past and present, innocent people being killed in wars and all. The difference is we don't intentionally do stuff like that and then gloat about it or celebrate it, we feel bad about it because we're human beings and value human life. Still, we need a President that is STRONG and not afraid to stand up for America. One that can't even swallow his pride and put his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance is a f*ckin weak a$$ plain and simple, and certainly has no business running our country. An inanimate object like a flag is what you make of it. He's choosing to appease political correctness by thinking our flag is a symbol of tyranny, oppression, or whatever else I remember him saying in a recent news article. If he were real Presidential material he would stand up in the face of PC and say look, the American flag is STILL a symbol of hope and a symbol of freedom. It's what you make of it.

Oh and as far as the guilt thing, it's really castrating this country. People are constantly making a big deal about stuff that has happened in the past, and sometimes distant past when, most of the time it has NO bearing on this current point in time. What the F have WE done in the past decade or so that we should be so ashamed of? Despite all the liberal whining about Iraq and Afghanistan, anyone that has actually taken the time to do some research, talk to people that have been there, or have been there themselves will find we ARE indeed helping people out there that were living under horrible conditions. It's a catch 22, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. If we hadn't gone into Afghanistan or Iraq, you'd probably hear the same liberal idiots whining about us not helping to stop the atrocities in those countries. God, if only someone could invent a way to ship all of those clueless morons off on to their own little island (preferably smack dab in the middle of a volcano) so they could leave all of us alone and stop infecting our society with the mental equivalent of rabies.

I would question the source. There has been alot of questionable material on the internet about all the candidates.

Maybe they don't always, but they don't refuse to do so. They also don't REFUSE to salute the flag during ceremony. Just more reasons in my book.
