Only other option is to drill a hole, put a screw in and use a dent puller, which means you'll have to repair the hole and repaint. I'd also consider calling one of those paintless dent repair places.
Liquid nitrogen (or a close equivilant) and a bucket of hot ass water. Spray the dent with the nitrogen and when its nice and cold, throw that bucket of hot water on it, but you will be surprised... And the paint will probably come off of it from the force of it popping out, but thats a risk I am willing to take...
I think you might have it backwards... You want the back side of the dent hot so that it'll expand and the front side cold so that it will contract. Heat it first, then chill it.
Im going to go to cantwells junk yard after I get off work. The Tail gate is bowed inward as well as the dent. Maybe I can exchange mine for one of his??

Man I wok in a body shop, just go to any decent shop and pay cash, I bet they will fix and paint for $200. Or if it has not broken the paint check out Paintless Dent repair. I have seen it done on hail damages vehicles and the guys that know what they are doing can do it flawlessly.
