HUD Proposes Plan to Racially, Economically Integrate Neighborhoods - US News

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has proposed a new plan to change U.S. neighborhoods it says are racially imbalanced or are too tilted toward rich or poor, arguing the country's housing policies have not been effective at creating the kind of integrated communities the agency had hoped for.
The proposed federal rule, called "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing," is currently under a 60-day public comment period. Though details of how the policy would specifically work are unclear, the rule says HUD would provide states, local governments and others who receive agency money with data and a geospatial tool to look at "patterns of integration and segregation; racially and ethnically concentrated areas of poverty; access to education, employment, low-poverty, transportation, and environmental health."

integrating works soooooo well. Look at all the wonderful east coast cities
    places I've personally been to-
    Tuscaloosa- shithole
    Atlanta- shithole
    Raleigh- shithole
    Durham- shithole
    Richmond- shithole
    DC- shithole
    Baltimore- shithole
    Philadelphia- shithole
    All of New Jersey- shithole
    New York- shithole

See a pattern? Cities were nice (and safe) before the government forced integration of schools and civil rights in general. I'm not for segregated schools or anything, just don't force it. All it does is drive property values down, increase crime and increase taxes. Lose-lose all around.

Haven't they already been doing this? At least with the "tilted toward rich or poor" aspect... Just look in any middle or upper middle class neighborhood. See the one or maybe two houses that are obviously not kept up as nice as the others? Probably a HUD house or section 8.

Except that's not how it actually shakes out it appears.

The Nation's Most Segregated Schools Aren't Where You'd Think They'd Be

New York is an interesting case. I learned about this in a class I took. When the schools were integrated, the white parents either moved or sent their kids to private schools, thus turning the inner-city schools into black and latino majorities. Attempts have been made to reintegrate the schools (not for racial reasons, but to bring in more money) but all have failed.

This is true wherever you go. Once the schools were integrated, the whites moved out and the blacks and latinos moved in. Nowadays, it's not about race, but income. Now the wealthy (all races) are moving out to the suburbs, leaving the poor in the city, which kills school systems and cities in general.

When I lived in Cary, NC I saw this firsthand. We lived in a wealthy neighborhood, but I went to school with kids on government lunches (white and black). This was not a nice school, despite it's surrounding areas.

Today, it's about money. Statistically whites are more wealthy than blacks, so people try to make it about race. It's not. It was back when integration first happened, but now it's about money. I've seen it firsthand

Nothing like putting your cock on display for the neighbors.

I can't see this plan winning. Why not help the poor get incented to get educated instead of incented to get a handout? Maybe teach them to sign checks on the front instead of the back? Then they would be able to afford to choose.

I think there should be a law against any government official looking at race at all.
    No laws designed to....
No money spent on studies to.....
No section of applicaton that asks race.
No how many whites, blacks, browns, yellows, reds, pinks, beige's voting here or there..

It really is the left that is so obsessed with race. Id be perfectly fine living in a neighborhood of a different ethnicity than me if they were trying to pursue the same things in life. But then the left would demand economic diversity, non traditional family diversity, sexuality diversity.

The devil comes to rob, kill and destroy.

I was just a toddler in the late 60s and early 70s, but I've read enough and know enough that people with the means will haul ass when they have to. My parent's neighborhood near Baltimore is a good example: Baltimore City bought out an apartment complex and emptied some of their worse neighborhoods into it. Within a couple of years, metal detectors and drug-sniffing dogs were in the schools. Added to that, the city extended a bus line that ended up turning what was a nice mall into Baghdad west.

They've been trying this for decades. The only result of quite a bit of it is "white flight" as it's called. A former coworker has a Section 8 house in his neighborhood and he and his neighbors hate it. The yard is a mess. There have been about half a dozen "residents" over the last 4 years. The last resident, kicked out about 4 months ago, wasn't paying utility bills and the "residents" ran a hose from the next door neighbors outside faucet for water. When that neighbor returned from vacation, he discovered the hose and disconnected it. There are other horror stories of previous "residents" but they're nothing none of you haven't heard.
