I received a letter home in both of my kids' folders last night. It seems Klein ISD is going to air his propaganda. The one positive is that at the bottom of the letter I have the choice to have my children participate in other activities during the broadcast. I am still planning on being at the next school board meeting to voice my opiinion on the district allowing this to happen at all. My wife is now worried that my children will be "discriminated" against because of my refusal to allow them to view blatant propaganda. I welcome the opportunity to end a brainwashed teachers career over this...

What other activities? Sitting at a desk with their heads down?

I say give them the choice of listening to the Blackmailer in Chief or old Bugs Bunny reruns.

Hey D, cant you just call in sick for them? I am not a parent, so I was just wondering. That way they wont be descriminated against by the other curtain climbers.

Lucky for us Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD won't be forcing this bull into our kids' classrooms. I would start emailing the superintendant now, and have my friends do the same. We were gonna take our kids out of school that day if they would have shown it though.

I know its tough guys but if all possible find other means to educated your
children, mine are long out of public school the last was several years ago
and I seen what was happening so we bit the extra expense and paid for
private school I believe it was worth it.

While we have good teachers the system its self is corrupt if you can watch tonight on fox 8pm concerning text books.

Klein ISD is a good district, sad that they are going to allow this.. Obviously, Klein ISD see this is going to be a controversial subject by sending the letters home and giving a choice of watching it or not. DCortez brings up a good point, what will the non-brainwashed parents' children going to be doing?

I personally would like to see the attendance for that day, just to see how many parents decided to shield their kids from this crap... Having a low attendance might get some headline news (outside of Fox), giving a strong warning to the schools and to this F'ed up government that we are not going to allow them to mess with our kids..

The Kountze, TX school will be showing it too. Sad. The West Hardin School will not be showing this commie crud. Thank God! I wrote them an e-mail which is pasted below (I stole the last line from this thread. ;) ) and their answer is below that.

    Hello,

I'm writing to ask whether the school is showing the communist propoganda
by our so-called President. Our country is in trouble because of these
jokers. Please don't get us in deeper by helping him to indoctrinate our
kids into his awfull socialist system. Show them something more useful to
them, like an old Bugs Bunny re-run.

    Regards,
    Fisherman

We will not be showing the president's speech.

this would be a great opportunity to take you kids out and teach them something. i personally dont have any children but if i did i would take my kids fishing or to the range for the day, this way they would be learning something useful or at the very least create a fond memory with their parents.

They didn't show it in Red Oak. My kids were hoping for a day off.

I didn't see anything wrong with the speech when I read the transcript. If he had released the transcript a week before, there wouldn't have been many complaints. The fact that he kept us all in the dark until the evening before the show, makes me think that that wasn't his original speech content.

One good thing came out of this. My 7 year old doesn't think much of 0bama now, since he found out that Dad doesn't like his politics. My older boys already knew.

Personally I didn't have an issue with Obama wanting to talk to kids. He wants to talk to them, fine, go for it.

What got to me was the lesson plans being sent out with it, especially the "how do you think you can help Obama". If I had a child, I would have told him/her I would boost their allowance that week if they wrote "Help him read the Constitution".
