Shot my Shield w the Apex sear today. Accuracy improved some. I need to shoot it more to really see just how good i am now with slow fire. Same with longer ranges, still need to work on that. I was more interested in speed today.

Shot mostly at 5-7 yards and had probably 6-8" groups while trying to push my speed. I was shooting drawing from concealment and had the following consistent times.

Buzzer to first shot 1.75 seconds
Splits between shots were consistently 0.18-0.22 seconds.

Thats down from about 0.25-0.28 before. This does make me want to see what I could with a full Apex trigger but at the speed I was doing im on the edge of the limit of my fundamentals.

Shooting on a timer is invaluable.

So 8 (i usally just carry 8 not 8+1) shot gun, max I can draw at 1.6 seconds and max speed with ok accuracy within 7 yards is 0.18 splits...that is draw to empty gun with 8 good hits on target in 3.04 seconds at best or closer to 3.3-3.4 seconds on average.

Did you install the Apex, or did you have it done?

I've shot my newly acquired M&P Shield, and it has a sweet trigger.

At seven yards, it grouped at about eight inches from a rest with PPU brass-cased 115 grain ammo.

I almost asked a stranger in the next bay to take a few shots, but I used up all my ammo.

I have never had a new gun "out of the box" shoot such erratic patterns.

    Thoughts?

Installed it myself. Its pretty straight forward.

    Id try different ammo.

I can honestly say just the opposite. Bought one for the wife and shot it before giving it to her. After adjusting to the lighter weight and shorter barrel I was grouping 3" at 10 yards. I had not ONE flyer in the 25-rounds (of Blazer Brass) I put through it . It is one of the SWEETEST guns I have ever fired, and I would GLADLY take it back from her at the drop of a hat. I have not read or seen a single bad review on the accuracy of the Shield.

Get thee to a gunsmith and have that weapon checked, pronto!!

Same here. Possibly a shooter issue, or it needs to go back to the manufacturer.

My shield shoots better than I can shoot it. Da trigger issues. I'm interested in the apex trigger kits. When I shoot left handed at 7 yds I have hits and not groups. Two handed and right handed standing I have 5" groups. If I spent the time and thought about everything when I was shooting I'm sure I could get that to 2-3 in groups. Off a bench idk. It's accurate tho.
When I'm carrying and defending myself- if I have enough time to really line up my sights and really focus on isolating and squeezing the trigger in a controlled manner to get the 2-3" groups at 7yds I'd either be dead or shot someone that was retreating. When I practice with my shield I kill paper from draw and practice double taps and quick 5 shot groups. It's not my target handgun.
