FYI.....I got this email today from a friend.

"NASA has just announced that the shuttle will return on orbit 203 tonight. This will pass directly over the Gulf Coast, Austin, Houston, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, etc. It will be visible between 7:10 PM and 7:35 tonight going from West to East.

For those farther North, Dallas etc., look South. If the shuttle does return on orbit 203 it will appear as a orange streak."

Badass! I saw the last one and it was like WOW bright. One of the coolest things I've ever seen by far. You could make it out, and it left a long trailing streak of flames. I kept seeing little meteors and stuff, until all of a sudden the shuttle came through. It lit up the sky like it was a full moon.

The last one I saw was in pieces. Hope I never see that again.
It is cool to watch especially when the sun is starting to set.

We even heard the explosion, that's what made us go outside. At first we thought that a big meteor had come through the atmosphere but later learned it was the shuttle. We saw all the pieces and fire ball but not the actual explosion.

We saw the whole thing. It is something that I hope I never have to see again. We didnt know what it was until we got back to the truck and heard it on the radio

Thanks for the info. I hope these clouds move out. My son and I love this sorta stuff. Will be visible from 7:10 to 7:35 or just at those times? How far south like the horizon or farther vertical? Thanks again.

    Took pictures of the shuttle

I was in Montague County and pulled over and snapped three pics, I remember it was a neon green trail with what I thought were chase planes around it.

they track pretty m,uch everyhting in orbit aorund earth, and give times when all these things will be visible and what magnitude "brightness" they will be.
very fun for weekend veiwing of sattelites and the ISS.
alot of them you dont even need a telescope
