What are you doing to show support to the victims and there families?

I must have tried at least ten different words in place of the word "support" in this title. I didn't want to imply that any had forgotten or just not thought about it. I finally wound up choosing this title over the rest. To me it is a day of morning the loss of 3,000 people not only Americans but people from different countries and different religions that all died for nothing more than hate for this country and our allies. I know there are a lot of different theories about the attacks but today lets just say that there are a great number of people dead, and try and honor them the best we can.atriot:
I am wearing black tape on my badge at work so that everyone will know that I have not forgotten the ruthless attack on this country. And to show them that I will never forget the attack. The memory of 9/11 victims (Twin Towers and the Pentagon) and heroes (Flight 93) can best be served by doing what we can as private citizens to ensure their sacrifice and the continuing sacrifice of our military service personnel was not in vain. How do we do that?

By actively doing whatever we can to ensure we are ready to defend Mother Freedom from foreign and domestic forces which desire nothing less than to defame our Constitution and transform our way of life by eroding our individual freedoms.

Besides the moments of silence and reverent memories which are so well deserved, our behavior (i.e., in defending Mother Freedom) is the ultimate salute to the sacrifices made on 9/11 and thereafter.

By refusing to be a victim. Not only will I fight like the passengers on Flt 93, I will do all within my power to make sure that our freedom continues. The end of my enlistment didn't erase the oath.

Not doing anything today, my small cadre of brothers that are both active duty and non-active duty have a schedule we have upheld every week, every month, every year since 09/11/2001. A schedule was sent out to all of us, and so on certain weeks throughout the year that we volunteered for, my family gathers up goods and items and send "care packages" to those brothers still in harm's way. Jolly Ranchers, SOFT TP, new toothbrushes, condoms (keeps sand out of the end of your M4 and can shoot right through it when neccessary - NOT for illicit reasons), along with other items that are needed/wanted to keep morale high.

The trick here is, yes it was a day....DAY that was horrible and tragic. We should keep those that were lost, and those that were left behind in our thoughts and prayers. BUT - it is our DUTY to DAILY remember our boys and girls that are there TODAY. And to try to do something for our service members and former service members that sacrificed so much of themselves, for so little, for the rights of so many. Go to your local VA hospital and visit someone, anyone, for no reason. Contact the USO for addresses to write a letter, send pictures of where YOU are in the country THEY are defending. Little things mean ALOT when you are there. I know, as do other forum members I am sure.

We are wearing memorial T-shirts that we had made up for all the Firefighters. All shifts have them to wear on the 10,11 and 12 In the past we have given man power and funds. Agree with above we will remember but also remember the fireman that die daily and the soliders,cops that also give there lives daily. God Bless America.
