When the military buys a rifle for example they purchase a rifle and all the supporting materials\items needed for that platform.

Has anyone completed a complete system supporting gear for their firearm? I know what one person thinks is a complete system is not for another.

I've not yet accomplished one yet myself but I've always wanted to get there yet keep getting distracted by new guns.

    For example

    Long Range Rifle

    • Custom Case
    • Reloading Dies
    • Shooting Mat
    • Spotting Scope
    • Wind Speed Measure
    • Range Finder
    • Spotting Scope
    • Silencer
    • Bipod
    • Ballistic Chart\Computer\Log
    • Scope
    • Armorers tools
    • Spare magazines
    • etc.

    Hopefully you get the idea.

That is pretty awesome.. I might just have to follow your lead on this..

I have a new Surgeon Rifle on the way and this might be a fun task for it. The next step is a nice big custom hard case to store it all in.

    Gunz are icky.
My idea of a "complete system" is more modest than shooting mats and spotting scope.
I have those items but use them across several systems.
Uncle Sugar ain't paying for it. I am.

    For instance:
Handgun - the gun itself, magazines, holster, ammo, hard/soft case, any specialized tools particular to that firearm would be a "complete system".

It all depends on the completeness of the system.

I have what I consider to be a complete system for long range shooting. I own too many different platforms to have one custom system for each platform though.

Like my rifle cases. I own a few but none are for just one gun. Grab a gun and throw it in a case.

My shooting matt works for multiple rifles.

My range bag gets emptied and refilled for each range trip.

I do not own a chronograph or a spotting scope yet. I am just getting serious about long range shooting and these will be added.

Almost everything I buy is geared toward shooting in general, not just shooting one particular rifle.

I do own dies and componants for everything I shoot.

That being said, I don't own a custom rifle. If I had a multi-thousand dollar rifle it may have it's own kit, which to me is a Pelican case with the foam cut out and a range bag just for it.

Why do you need 2 spotting scopes?

Well, I got a Savage, scope, dies, bipod, ammo, , mat, and rear bag. System complete:)

I would like to find a spotting scope with mil reticle that I could afford.

Honestly, how much if the "complete system" do we really need?
If your goal does not include repairing the gun yourself do you really need an armorers tool to have a complete system?

Also, I have enough trouble toting gear to the range for the rifle as it is, already choose between spotting scope and chrony cause its just too much to carry. Guess that's what spotters are for:p

What you are talking about Cowboy, is a "System of Systems."

Me: Gun, bag, ammo, hearing protection (my eyeglass lenses count as eye protection).

That is not a system, just a method.

Let's see: Rifle, scope, bipod, sling, ammo carrier, case, reloading dies, range finder, non-reflective lens cover, cleaning kit, ballistic app for phone.

Pretty decent for a single rifle.

My "system" is to have separate range bags for everything. My off-weapon optics (spotting scope, tripod, binoculars, lens cleaning wipes), tools staplers and batteries, cleaning kit, mags, safety gear, targets, Hero HD Pro camera and kit, mats and rest (in a box), and ammo are all in individual bags so when I load up the bed of my truck a quick head-count will show if I've forgotten anything.
