The accuracy certainly isn't. This is shameful at 3 yards / 9 feet, controlled fire:

    accuracy.jpg

And please, get rid of the music. It's distracting.

I guess that I just fail to see your purpose.

The only point I see in the video is a shitty C9.

Are you doing some back to school, adult continuing education videography class or something?

What is the message that you are attempting to get across?

Do those bullet holes look slightly keyhole shaped to anyone else?

Or did the flyers somehow stack on each other?

The highest bullet hole on the target clearly tore a strip of target paper downward from the impact point. That means the target is printed on very thin, very cheap paper. With such cheap targets, it's not possible to tell if keyholes are happening or not. The holes in the paper will never be round at handgun velocities.

Edited to add a couple of illustrative examples.

Here's what bullet holes can look like on cheap targets:

Here's similar ammo used on a quality target:

Moral of the story - With cheap targets, you can't draw any reliable conclusions from the shape of the bullet holes.

Always good to see gun reviewers.

Firt off, as previously mentioned, the music is distracting. Either turn it down a tad to be way in the background just to keep it from having dead spaces in audio, or use a softer kind of music.

And second, you are speaking very loudly! If you can, invest in a mic that clips on to your shirt, and speak in your normal voice. It is more appealing being talked to in a conversational voice, then it is to feel shouted at.

I do like the intro though, well done!

Gotcha. Just thought maybe there was a mechanical reason for so many shots to be off target at that close range.

That's a good question. At that range, I'd almost expect that level of accuracy from something made out of water pipe and duct tape with a nail for a firing pin.

The only quality firearm I've ever seen throw groups that bad was a Contender pistol in .44 Mag where the shooter had left the choke attached. Back in the day, that barrel could be had with a screw-on choke with straight rifling designed to tear up plastic shot cups, turning the pistol into a surprisingly high-performance miniature shotgun. However, firing actual bullets through that choke was an invitation to disaster.

Nothing blew up, but I saw a guy shooting roughly 2-foot groups at 15-20 yards with a set-up like that. After he took off the choke, the pistol shot fine.

So, yeah, there could be a mechanical reason but the problem would have to be insanely bad...and probably insanely obvious.

OTOH, I've seen very large groups shot from high quality guns more times than I can remember when the skill of the shooter was the problem.

As to which is the most likely cause of the performance documented in the video, I have no idea. :)

    Koinonia,

Thanks for the respectful response the music is what it is because we are in an airlock indoor gun range and the wind sound picked up is worse. As for getting a mic that is already in the works we did this on a smart phone and edited it with Adobe premier 6.0 we are working to improve and thanks again.(Oh and if ya'll notice at 30 feet got way better warmed up if you know what I mean Didn't warm up and then roll wouldn't be quite as realistic but probably better for video purposes) wait for the video on the 45ACP hi point !!!

I gotta agree, quiet the music a little.

I would suggest testing the gun with factory ammo. That way the accuracy is repeatable to a buyer.

When you finish firing don't cut out when you pull the target in. I see an opportunity to edit in a different target. Not that you did, but that is what I think could happen.

I would also suggest firing the gun and getting familiar with it before the filming begins. The accuracy on the different distances is realistic from the viewpoint of a fellow shooter that has fired an unfamiliar gun, but a novice may not understand why the target gets further away and the groups get smaller. A three foot group at nine feet isn't going to sell many guns.

All in all, not a bad video.

Get the sound issues straightened out and review a good gun. Then we will see how it is coming along.

Since you asked for input, three yards is not "about" nine feet, it IS nine feet. The music had got to go.

With that kind of patterning out of a blowback handgun, I would check and see if the barrel was screwed down tight or send it back to hi-point and have it checked.

I have a c9 and after some manipulation of the magazine lips, it is fully reliable. I hope there is some kind of issue with the gun, because I let my grandson shoot it and he is dead nutz at 9 feet.

I have found that hi-points don't always get honest reviews.

    Bvhawk,
Apperciate the comment like I said earlier in a post I shot straight out, no practice mag which alot of guys do to warm up before they tape if you notice the pattern gets better the farther out the target goes it was 27 rounds (i.e. I love my Hi points) probably a lil nervous too new at this video thing. And again thanks for watching..
