Cheapest improvement was doing some filing, sanding, polishing to my 10/22 bolt, receiver, and trigger group. I brought the trigger pull down from the factory six or seven pounds to something closer to four pounds.

I filed down the "alien tongue" of my G19 so that it is perfectly flush with my trigger when all the way back. Wasn't crucial, but after some days of training, I found all the pressure wound up on that little bit of the tongue that wouldn't recess. After this, it felt a lot better when running heavy round counts through it in a day.

I tried the fluorescent paint. I tried to put dots on my LCP. They didn't stick well enough to last very long. I ended up buy a CT laser.

I painted the dots on my Kahr CW9. The paint inside the dot holes held better. The downside of the paint is that you have to "charge" it up by exposing it to bright light pretty often to keep it glowing. There's not much light in the bottom of my holster.

Bottom line for me. Paint is good for shooting in low light conditions if you can plan ahead, but not for an EDC.

My cheap mod was a Hogue Handall Jr. slip on grip. The grip is tacky and has molding that your fingers can fit between and give you better control. The recoil is more comfortable.

Planning on working my Savage 10 plastic junk stock soon. I dont like the cheap feel it gives... in spite of how well it shoots. going to bed the action and fill in the hollow buttstock (with something... havent decided what yet). Should be a lot cheaper than replacing it, should also improve the already very accurate rifle.

Oh yeah, & here's the "gills" - intended to hold the holster in place (ie, between the seats) when I draw the weapon. Also part of the one piece - and much harder to cut & mold.

Awesome idea. My G19 falls in between my seats in the Dodge so I'll definitely give this a try. Thanks.

Or you could carry it in your holster and keep an extra in the console. If some motherfucker comes up to your truck demanding money, he doesn't know if you're reaching for your wallet or your sidearm

Glow in the dark fishing lure paint is a lot cheaper than "gunsite" paint you can pick it up in almost any fishing and tackle store for around $1 a bottle.

The only issue with that is I have no extra and no cash to allocate towards said extra. Maybe someday.

If you do not like the upper to lower fit on your AR, take a short piece of pipe cleaner and insert it on the shelf at the front of the lower. It will take solme pressure to close the halves, but it will lock up better than the stupid rubber POS they sell to go in the rear of the lower.

Afraid of slam fires on your SKS? Take out the firing pin and give it a good polish with 600 grit wet/dry sand paper. Break the edges with a fine file so it moves freely in the bolt. Nary a slamfire EVER!

Got a S&W Sigma VE (or any of the older, better versions)? Detail strip it and use SPrinco Machinegunners lube. Can take 2-3lbs off the trigger pull
