Does anyone know what the Ft Worth Zoo's firearms policy is? I've searched the zoo website and searched this website but came up empty.

I don't really want to call them because I know what the answer will be regardless of their actual policy.

    Thanks for any help!

I carry 24/7. I always figured that the ideal of concealed carry was for nobody to ever know I had it. Mine stays concealed at all times. If someone doesn't know I am carrying they can't complain about it.

we were at that very zoo two months ago ... I was carrying, didn't see any postings, and did not remove the gun, which was in a pocket holster ... I agree with Wendy; keep it concealed and keep yourself safe ...

You never know when you'll need that concealed handgun, even at the zoo. Those chimps can't be trusted:

This is the sign at the Zoo. It's about 75' from the ticket booths and about 25' from the actual entrance gates. You can see it from the gates but can't read it.

I ended up leaving my gun in the truck that day. But after seeing the sign I'll just keep it concealled next time.

    Thanks for the info!

The letters look to be right at 1" in height and are contrasting colors. But the "displayed in conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public" part is a gray area I think.

Being displayed AFTER payed admission and after the main entrance is wrong I think.

    Therefore,

is it conspicous? No. Based on distance provided below, would it be reasonable not to see it? Based on distance from entrance and ticket booths, and the fact you can't read it, the answer as to reasonableness is YES. I would carry concealed.

GO armed or go home... I've seen to many vicious panda, tiger and polar bear attacks and since they don't let us feed them gangbangers its best to go armed.

I agree, based on the placment of the sign I will be armed for any future visits to the Ft Worth Zoo. Boycotting the Zoo is not an option for me as I have a young son who will want to go back.

One of the Gorillas that was looking at me wierd made me nervous anyway

No. If you carry there you violate 30.06 (a)(2)(B)
