My Blue Book is a little old. I've got a Colt Ace mfg around 1980 that I'm going to list on GunBroker shortly but wanted to get your feedback on a fair reserve price to put on it. I'm selling it for a widow here in town. It's a 95% to 98% gun with one Colt mag, box and paperwork. I would grade it higher but the hammer has some discloration and there is a small rub spot on the top of the slide from when it was stored in the box. It has had only one box of shells through it from when it was first purchased new. I field stripped it and it was CLEAN on the inside which to me indicates that the widow is correct in how much it was used by her husband. It also has a set of genuine carved ivory grips that she thinks came with the gun, but I think the husband bought them separately. I do not have the original wood grips that would have come with the gun.

    Dallas Texas or so
Check gunbroker or the 1911forum.com. Condition is everything. Also, the serial number can tell you when it was made. Is it the one with the floating chamber or the other.

Lots of variables and those guys know. Post in the Colt sub section. Pics will help too.

From my first post, it was built in 1980. The serial number is at the back end of when they were producing them and production stopped in 1982. It has the floating chamber which is how they came out of the factory then. I checked prices on GunBroker but they're all over the map. If someone is interested, I can email photos but was just looking for some ballpark figures if someone had a more current Blue Book.
