Hello! Went to the range today. My groups with my new rifle were a bit off. Was using the 17HMR barrel and magazine today. Left the .22 barrel and magazine at home. Hubby took his new Savage 17 HMR to zero it. It has a gray and black laminate stock and heavy barrel. Also has an adjustable trigger.

D'ArmiBeretta has been mostly deaf all her life. She's finally decided to go for a Cochlear Implant, and was approved Friday. She's going for her scheduling appt tomorrow, and then the surgery will be soon after, we hope.

She will finally be able to hear high pitches, and will be able to enjoy the outdoors and music in a way she hasn't been able to before. Its going to be a slow process, but it will be well worth the wait!

Congratulations to her. But silly questiom, that you've probably asked yourself, I'm sure. How is she such a successful belly dancer when she can't hear the music that well? Not poking fun, I'm genuinely curious.

I actually perform barefoot for a reason. I can feel the beats under my feet. My sense of touch is pretty strong. It's a talent people with hearing can't seem to get. I wanted to be a dancer since I was a child and an audiologist used to always come pull me out of class 3 times a week to teach me how to learn to feel noise rather than hear it. I made my dream come to life by putting those teachings to work.

I am scared to death about this surgery, but I'm told my life is about to become brighter. It will take 2 months to recuperate and about a year to adjust. I've never heard birds, insects and other higher pitches in my life. The noise may be overwhelming for me for a while.

Congrats Jess. I wish you the best with them. It is a whole different world. You know I have hearing problems as well. Didn't realize how bad for many years. And sometimes the noise is overwhelming and I yank my hearing aid out. But you will have two ears, hopefully, to sort out the noise. Too much in one ear and it gets jumbled. Sometimes it is nice to retreat to a quiet world. I remember birds, but can't hear most of them anymore. If I turn my hearing aid up enough, I can hear the whipporwills late at night. I love whipporwills. I hope they sound as sweet to you.

That is absolutely amazing. Hope all goes well with your surgery.
