Any ideas? We shot our first round of sporting clays saturday and had a blast. Only issue was my wife loves her benelli nova 12 ga, but the LOP is way too long causing some issues. She shot a 31 and I shot a 72 bit she is normally a much better shot than that. Has anyone figured out an easy way to shorten the LOP and reattatch the recoil pad (or add an aftermarket pad? Right now, if I were to just cut it down, the recoil pad couldnt be used. Only way ive found is to glue a wooden block into the cavity and screw an aftermarket (grind to fit) pad on, but i wanted to make sure this was the easiest way to do it before proceeding.

That would be the cheapest way I know of. Another alternative is to see if you can order a shorter stock for that reciever. When you shoerten the stock, you will raise drop at comb, I believe that is the correct term for the cheekrest. Which will effectively move sight alignment, because the eye is raised and it is the rear sight. Sometimes you can change that with angled shims between the reciever and stock to drop or raise the cheek height or to angle it sideways to bring the barrel more in line with the eye. The best way is with a custom stock though.
Short answer, yes you can. I cut some down for me once . One worked out great. About an inch shorter than normal works better for me. The other turned out horrible. But it was horrible for me anyway. Just be aware, even if it looks good, she may not like it.

You might try the folks at shotgunworld.com.. They have helped me with shotgun stuff before. They are way better at shotguns than me.

Not sure you would be able to find one in camo, but a collapsible stock would shorten the LOP. That is what I ended up doing, went with an ATI, it retained the stock recoil compensator the supernova has.

Thanks, but the nova stock and reciever are all one piece so no chance to replace the stock or shim it.

Her birthday is in mid July, so I may just pick her up a good O/U that fits her better. Id just hate to cut it down and it look like crud!

If it were me I would let a gunsmith fit the stock to her. They can cut it down, drop the comb, glass in the very back of the butt stock and replace the recoil pad with a flat pad that fits her. Then have the whole gun dura coated black and it should look pretty nice. Or just get her a maverick 88 or 870 with a wood stock and have it fitted for her.
