End of tomorrow. Please call with your support and ask that Hunter schedules HB1911 for a vote on the house floor.

Called and voiced my concern on getting HB1911 out for a floor vote. Nice person on the phone said he'd pass it along, it took all of 30 seconds with gratuities. Be nice, give them a call folks!

I got this EMAIL from TSRA today.

"Dear TSRA members, Family and Friends,

What happened this session with Unlicensed Carry of a Handgun?

For the first time in the history of Texas two versions of Constitutional Carry (unlicensed carry of a handgun) were filed in the House and both had a committee hearing on March 28th in Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee.

Witness List for HB 375 and HB 1911

On April 18th, HB 1911 was voted out of that same committee by the Republican members and sent to Calendars. The issue did not move farther.

Nothing was filed in the Texas Senate.

    Background:

In most states, a gun is a gun; a firearm is a firearm but not so in Texas. In the 1870's the Texas Legislature listed a handgun as a prohibited weapon and nothing changed with Penal Code 46.02 until CHL passed in 1995 and TSRA's Car Carry bill passed in 2007. We started off behind!

What can be done to prepare for the next session?

    TSRA is running and gunning.

We've asked both the House and Senate to look at holding an interim study on the history and background surrounding unlicensed carry of a handgun. We need to educate the Legislature, provide statistics and information on what's going on in other states, and bury our State Senators and State Representatives in information beyond the 2nd Amendment.

In God We Trust-All Others Bring Data!

An interim study is a committee hearing, often with only invited testimony, used for research. There is no vote as the Legislature is not in session but the study
generates a public report to the next legislative session.

Gun-owners simply cannot go into another session without the best language and the best possible plan of action for a successful outcome.

We appreciate the hearing in the House and thanks for the committee vote on HB 1911, but TSRA members want more. Again, we must create a better plan.

Constitutional Carry, the unlicensed possession of a handgun, is in TSRA's front sights and we don't quit.

    This will Happen!

"....we must create a better plan."

That plan had better find a way to overcome or otherwise minimize the objections of certain aspects of the LEO community who oppose constitutional carry.

James Dickey is the new chair of the Texas GOP . Under his leadership the party is pushing harder for Constitutional Carry. He hired Rachel Malone from Texas Firearms Freedom who has pointed out Abbott can still add CC to the agenda.

The GOP is putting together teams of grassroots activists to lobby the legislature on behalf of the actual party platform priorities including Constitutional Carry beginning with the special session.

With the upcoming special session being less than a month away, we have a real opportunity to make our voices heard by our state legislators. We are building up a team of STAT Deputies, “Strategic Texas Activist Team,” or “S.T.A.T.,” to engage the legislature during the special session. As each item comes up for consideration during the special session, we will contact you with unique action items to make our voices heard and help advance the RPT Platform & legislative priorities. Alternatively, if some of these issues are not taken up for consideration during special session, we still intend to utilize our S.T.A.T. Deputies in an effort to let our elected officials know that we still wish for these items to be considered. Of the following options below, please select which issues you’d be interested in working on in the upcoming special session:

Please select which issues you would like to engage in the upcoming special session: Required
    Municipal annexation reform– Plank 37
Cracking down on mail-in ballot fraud– Plank 59

Abbott intentionally left ConCarry off the extended session. I and dozens of others were calling his office every day. That is in addition to doing absolutely nothing to push its legalization aside from safely and lazily saying, "I'll sign it."

At this point he's as guilty as anyone else. He'd rather waste time with idiotic virtually unenforcable bathroom bills for chicks with dicks than actually do something measurably good for the state. I'll never vote for the turd again.

    London,

Do NOT be deceived, the so-called "bathroom bill" is NOT about LGBT people.
(The LYING/fake news media KNOWS that & LIES about it.)

The bill is intended to protect little girls from MALE HETROSEXUAL PREDATORS.
(Even the Houston mayor, who is homosexual, admits that.)

Even ONE little child being molested is ONE TOO MANY to "cater to" the LGBT adult "community".

The fact remains the law is virtually unenforceable, will be ignored by pedophiles, and anything they'd want to do in there is already illegal and carries far harsher penalties.

    But we digress.

    London,

Unfortunately, several District Attorneys have admitted that NO MEN can be legally kept out of the women's restrooms, shower facilities or locker rooms, absent the so-called bathroom bill.
(I suspect that you have no girl-child & unless you do this situation isn't ""a big deal" for you. - As I have a 5YO niece & 2 that are older it IS important to me, though my daughter is "grown & gone".)

As I said, be NOT deceived by the LYING MEDIA & the apologists for the LBGT community.

Just ONE little girl that is molested is too great a price to pay for "adult convenience".

    yours, satx

This thread is about a lack of constitutional carry bill being passed.
    Not the bathroom bill.

    I agree with London.

    Vaquero,

And all this time I thought you understand the TRUTH about the so-called "bathroom bill". - PITY that you are DECEIVED by KNOWING, CLEVER, LIARS, too.

As I've asked every "pro-bill" person: Are you willing to go to prison when (rather than IF) a child is molested because of this PC-STUPIDITY??

I agree that this thread SHOULD be about CC. - May I point out that it was not me who took the discussion "off-point" & advocated FOOLISHNESS & a danger to children?

    yours, satx.

    Vaquero,

WHEN a little girl is molested & emotionally damaged for life, I fear that you will be sorry that you haven't become one of us "deplorables".

There are parallels to the argument. The irony is that you are making the same argument the anti gunners are making

    1) open carry is bad because we wont know if a bad guy is carrying. If open carry is prohibited then anyone carrying a gun is a bad person

This is the same argument as

Men in womens bathrooms is bad, because if men are banned from womens bathrooms we know that any man in the womens restroom is a bad person.

    2) Some men are bad so no one should be allowed to own guns

    is the same as

Some men are bad so no men should be allowed in the women's restroom

    3) Tranny's are sickos anyway

vs Gun fetishists are sickos anyway

    4) bad guys dont follow laws, if you ban guns criminals will still have guns

    vs

bad guys dont follow laws, if you ban men from bathrooms, criminals will still go into bathrooms.

    5) The NRA leadership should be thrown in jail for all the gun murders as a result of their policies

The democratic leadership should be thrown in jail for all the molestations that happen in bathrooms as a result of their policies.

    6) most gun violence happens from a friend or relative

Most molestation happens from a friend or relative

I have two young daughters and I take them to the men's restroom all the time. Regardless of the law, if lots of people are going in and out of the womens restroom my oldest daughter can go alone. Otherwise she goes in with my wife. (like a relatively quiet highway rest stop). A law banning men isnt going to stop someone from waiting in the bathroom.

I was recently on a long distance trip and went into a gas station convenience store. There was a bunch of construction going on around the entrance to the bathrooms but a construction worker was coming out of one bathroom. I really had to take a dump so I was basically running in. They were really nice completely closed stalls. As I let loose I heard some womens voices and I realized I might have walked into the women's restroom. An employee asked loudly if a man had come in there and I was like "sorry!". I came out very embarrassed but the lady at the store gave me hell. Saying what if there were girls in there, how would I feel if it were my daughters etc.

I was wondering how I accidentally went to the womens restroom so I went back to look and it turns out the mens bathroom was under construction so the door was covered with a sheet of plastic. All signage was missing. A guy had come out of the womens restroom maybe doing work. I went to ask what was I supposed to do when there was no mens bathroom.

If it was against the law Im 100% sure she would have called the police because she was so pissed.

I will add that Im against constitutional carry. I think people should have some idea what they are doing if they are carrying in public. At least knowing the rules of safety and somewhat able to hit a target.

In the same way I think people should have an ID to vote.
