I got one today. I like the 18-inch barrel configuration. It appears they lost or never had the rear sight. It also came with a choke.

Does anyone know how these compare with the Benelli series shotguns? this is a gas-operated action, not inertia like the earlier Benellis.

Benelli makes gas and inertia operated shotguns.

I have a few Benellis and they are great. I haven't owned an FN shotgun but in general FN makes good sfuff too.

I can't compare the two beyond that but I think you will be pleased with it.

It should run great with full power and heavy game loads. Might not work at all with light trap and target loads. Check into it but if the gas system uses a rubber washer (like the 11-87) those can be quite fragile and dry rot so it's good to have a few spare.

She looks like a lot of fun! Congrats.

FN SLP's are great. If you worried FTF w/ certain loads, you can swap out the standard gas piston for a light load piston.

Best comparison would be a Beretta 1301

Price. I've shot both and they run the same. However, the quality of FN firearms would probably win out in the long run.

Looks a tad bit like the Mossberg; but I think a closer Beretta match would be the 1201FP Riot Gun:
