Israeli Surplus 5 magazine bag. Just going by the way it's built it's gotta be 70s or early 80s vintage. Little bit of rust on the buckles but very well built. Was going to get a few of them and use one for AR mags one for AUG mags (but wound up going with the NATO stocked AUG) but wound up using just this one bag even though I had already ordered the patches so they both went on this one bag. Going to get at least one more bag for the wifey's AR range magazines and maybe another one for some 40 round MAGPUL mags.

Stitching isn't all that great. Broke out my brand new machine that I haven't used till this and was still learning it's specific quirks and operation. Had to adjust the presser foot pressure so it would feed better and it got better the further along I got. had some bad rail road tracking on one patch too lol. Oh well it's not an important seam so should be fine

Hi, I saw your thread about this on arf and it really got me thinking.

Do you use this for a bug out bag AND how long do you keep your mags loaded for/how loaded are they?
An old vet I met at Mickey's told me he keeps mags loaded to 28 rounds each(m16). He also told me he shoots mostly Dallas Reloading's 223s since it's cheap and doesn't beat up your gun as much!

I'm just wondering since I don't use 42s at the range with my aug but I would certainly be taking those mags if I had to go rescue my eldest down at UH!

    Thanks

I cycle my mags via normal range use. I try to get to the range for 180 rounds (6 magazines) every week and everyonce in a while will cycle in 6 other magazines from the pile o mags I have. I don't download my mags and I have no problems keeping them loaded for however long. I just dont' sweat it.

I don't really use this as a bug out bag in the normal sense of one. I simply keep my stand mag "load out" in there and if I need to roll I grab it. Or if I'm going to the range I grab it and toss it in the car and draw mags from it as I do drills/practice or shoot a match to refil my mag carrier(s) on my belt.
