I wouldn't wish cancer on just about anyone, but would not be sorry to see him go if it means a real republican in his office.

    Sad.
Cancer has killed too many friends of mine usually slowly, painfully and in the end with no dignity other than the "fight" of it.

I have lost enough of my loved ones to cancer to never wish it on anyone. That being said, I have lost any respect for McCain as a so called republican. I hope things go well for him and his family, but also would like to see him go from politics.

As a politician, John McCain is very high on my poop list, especially on the Republican side. Having said that, we can't forget that he is a veteran, and dude, cancer is a terrible thing. I can set political differences aside and send some prayers his way for this.

    Gunz are icky.
Sad for the man. Dealing with the Big C is awful.
He should resign, spend his remaining time with family.

Sympathy for the man and his family.
But could never understand why a liberal would want to be labelled Republican.

Those kind of people are not really family guys usually
They'd rather spend their last days in power

Not surprising. To a lot of people like that, the only thing that matters is position and power. Family, health or anything else is secondary or a means to the end. Ideology and power above all else. Look at Hillary Clinton. They think the world would crumble without them.

Maybe I'm wrong but I remember when John McCain was at the top of the Republican Party. I'm just wondering what went wrong because I don't follow it closely?

Long story short, he's a RINO that somehow managed to get the presidential nomination and is proof of just how messed up the GOP's mentality is (sending a liberal to compete with a liberal, when his voting base is conservative). He's literally Obama lite, and supported many of Obama's ventures such as gun control.

I'd never wish cancer on anybody, but I can't say I'll miss his politics

I like how everyone thinks they know anything about this man's personal thoughts and family life. His daughter certainly doesn't agree with you. But what does she know, she's not on the internet.

I like how everyone thinks they know anything about this man's daughter (other than what they see of her "on air" TV personality). (Mathew 7:1-3)

If he is such a family man, why the hell is he still working at 80 years old? He could have retired at any time and went golfing or stayed home to spend time with his family. But no, they all seem to be so hooked on the power of DC that they can't stay away. They can't bear the reality of giving up the power of their postition.
McCain's first statement after revealing the diognosis was "
    I'll be back"

If someone was 80 , had the best retirement and health care and was diognosed with cancer, I'd figure they would retire and concentrate on getting better and being around family.

Senator Robert C Byrd of WV, stayed in office so long he was a slobbering fool. His staff wiped his mouth when he would drool while sitting down on the floor of the senate. He couldn't give up the power and retire either
