This is so messed up... I support law enforcement and know it is a very hard and dangerous job but seriously some of these guys need better training or should not be on the force.

"An Australian woman who called 911 to report a possible assault was shot and killed by a Minneapolis police officer after the officer's partner was startled by a loud sound near their squad car, the partner told investigators Tuesday.


The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Justine Damond, 40, approached the driver's side window of the squad car immediately after the driver had been startled by the sound. The officer in the passenger seat, Mohamed Noor, fired his weapon, hitting Damond through the open driver's side window, the BCA said.

Harrity and Noor are on paid administrative leave. Harrity (the driver) has been with the Minneapolis police department for one year, and Noor (the shooter) has been with the department for nearly two."

Two rookies patrolling at night? I watched enough 'ADAM 12' back in the day so I thought a senior officer was a good idea to train a rookie?? What am I missing?

I rode through Minnesota and the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area. I hated the whole state and Minneapolis/ St. Paul was one of the worst cities I rode through. The whole place gave me a bad vibe and I was very happy to put it in my mirrors. I stopped long enough to look inside the Mall of America and take a few pictures and made sure I got out of the state before spending the night. I told myself if I never went back it would be too soon. Something like this only confirms my feelings, this whole incident stinks.

Something I read mentioned something about fire works going off in the area, possibly was the boom the officer heard. Regardless, the officer who fired the shot, is apparently refusing to talk to investigators.

True, I was there in the daylight, but it was the whole state I wanted to avoid staying in. Trying to figure out which gas stations had real gas was a challenge. I was very happy to get to North Dakota. The so called 10,000 lakes that I saw looked more like ponds.

More like committed suicide by retarded cop. I try to be as neutral as possible, but the more that comes out in this the more it seems like Noor had an ND and killed someone who didn't need killing.

Not sure why 2 relatively inexperienced officers were paired up on night shift, but it had tragic consequences. Maybe that was the milk run sector and nobody thought they'd get a call. Very tragic.

Lots of unanswered questions. Why was the gun out? Why no recording devices if they felt threatened enough to draw a gun?

Startled by fireworks or a slap on the window. Tragic.

3 years is inexperienced?
They just rolled up in the scene. Didn't have time to turn the body cams or the car cam on. some car recorders only activate with lights and siren.
Roll up on a possible rape or murder scene and some crazy person is beating on your drivers window? They might get shot. Which she did. How many cops in the last month got shot in the head for just sitting in a squad car? That's likely to make anyone jumpy.

If the sight of a skinny white girl in her jammies makes you a-skeered, you have no business being a cop. And if I shot every person who ever slapped my car, I'd have a higher kill count than Audie fucking Murphy. Also, first it was, the woman was talking to the driver, then it was the Skinny got startled by fireworks, now it's slapping on the car. Boo sheet.

The Minnesota police officer who shot and killed an Australian bride-to-be already had three complaints against him in his two short years on the force.

Two of the three complaints in Mohamed Noor’s police file are active, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. One was closed without discipline.

Details of the complaints are unclear.

But the 31-year-old cop, who joined the force in 2015, is being sued for a May 25 incident in which a woman claimed he “grabbed her right wrist and upper arm” and injured her as he and other officers transported her to the hospital.

Noor is a divorced dad who was once observed by a home evaluator as having an “even keel and calm demeanor” in dealing with his son, the Star-Tribune reported.

.....so, he knows how to look the part when it's necessary.

REPORT: Muslim Cop Who Shot Unarmed Woman Was 'Diversity' Hire

The fatal police shooting of an unarmed woman in Minnesota was committed by one of five Somalis that Minneapolis recruited as part of its affirmative-action plan, according to new reports.

"The city’s affirmative-action program requires it to give preferential treatment to minorities, not only those hired by the city but by all contractors awarded contracts of more than $100,000," reports World Net Daily.

Minneapolis police Ofc. Mohamed Noor is accused of shooting and killing Australian Justine Damond, 40, who was engaged to be married in August. The local Star Tribune boiled the July 15 incident down to this:

“... two officers in one squad car, responding to the 911 call, pulled into the alley. Damond, in her pajamas, went to the driver’s side door and was talking to the driver. The officer in the passenger seat pulled his gun and shot Damond through the driver’s side door, sources confirmed."

That officer was Noor, a Somali-born recruit once praised by Mayor Betsy Hodges.

“I want to take a moment to recognize Officer Mohamed Noor, the newest Somali officer in the Minneapolis Police Department,” she wrote in a lengthy Facebook post in 2016 praising his 2015 hiring.

“Officer Noor has been assigned to the 5th Precinct, where his arrival has been highly celebrated, particularly by the Somali community in and around Karmel Mall. The community even hosted a meet and greet event (see pics) to welcome him,” Hodges wrote. “A wonderful sign of building trust and community policing at work. Welcome Officer Noor and all of the new officers in their new precinct assignments across the City.”

One city resident wrote on Facebook at the time: “Somalis are taking the rightful place in the society and fully integrated. The newest Somali American Police in the Minneapolis PD, Officer Mohamed Noor… We are proud of our young law enforcement agents in our American Somali community. You have our support and we got your back," heavy.com reported.

Other odd reports have been emerging since the shooting. For one, Noor had three complaints filed against him by citizens in just two years, record show. One was resolved but the other two are still active.

Meanwhile, the Jihad Watch website interviewed some of Noor's neighbors.


“He is extremely nervous," forklift driver Chris Miller, 49, who has lived next door for the past two years, told the site. "He is a little jumpy … He has little respect for women he has little respect for blacks and kids,” said Miller, who is African-American. "The least thing you say to him can set him off."

For some weird reason, Mayor Hodges wrote a note on her Facebook page addressing the city's Muslim population in which she pledges there will be no Islamaphobia — as if a white officer had shot an unarmed Muslim.
