If you had to (for whatever horrible reason) settle for one pistol, what would you pick? That's right - you can only own one pistol, so what would you go with?

    I'll start - SIG P226, Tan, 9mm

I would go with moving out of your state that only allows one. Isn't that like asking a kid in a candy store to choose only one?
But one? I guess I would go with my carry gun P320c.

One pistol!?! That's a tough one.

I would choose a 1911-pattern pistol with multiple caliber conversions fitted, .45, 9mm, and .22LR, minimum. Then I'd start looking hard for a .308Win conversion kit. If I managed to put all that together, I could be happy.

If conversion kits are not allowed and if we're allowed to select a handgun instead of a pistol, my 3" J-frame S&W in .38 will do just fine. It's small enough for concealed carry, accurate enough for fun, and can be shot with wax or plastic bullets for cheap, inside-the-house practice. I've got a nice 3" K-frame that would work just about as well, but it's a tad heavy for concealment.
