Nope. Can't do it. If you try to make me only have 1, I'll start with USP 45 in a tactical thigh holster. A commander size 1911 IWB at 4 o'clock, USP Compact 9 IWB at 8 o'clock, Ruger Redhawk on left hip cross draw, and fullsize 1911 in shoulder holster.

Of course if that alternate reality were to occur, I certainly wouldn't divulge the whereabouts of a metal box that just happened to be buried holding other pistols. All nicely wrapped in paper and plastic of course.

This is not an easy choice! lol.

On one hand, I have my Sig Scorpion 1911. Probably my favorite pistol to shoot, very accurate with it, and it just looks friggin sharp. And it's a heavy duty .45.

On the other hand, my Glock 17 is also something I am good at shooting (and I enjoy shooting it as well), it's a work horse, has never malfunctioned on me once (Sig has had a few FTE early on, probably just breaking in but still), and has more than double the mag capacity.

I suppose it depends on the situation that required the one pistol decision. If it was SHTF, I'd be reaching for my Glock. If it was some crazy, stupid law (well, if that happened the rest of my pistols would be lost in a boating accident), but something of that sort I would keep my Scorpion.

Might have put a bit too much thought into this hypothetical scenario :-D

That's a tough question, because the 1911 would be a natural choice (its 100+ year history of success can't be matched), but a good wheel gun has its merits as well. But given that I'd want something in a larger caliber and higher capacity, if having to choose only a single handgun the choice (which won't be a surprise to those who know me) would have to be a Springfield XDm-45!

My old/trusted Sig-Sauer P225. - In over 25 years, it's never failed me even once.
(I took it & my old Tex Shoemaker holster to qualify for my 1st Carry Concealed Permit in VA & the instructor took one look at the rig & asked me, "Where did you get those old relics?")

    yours, satx
