Meh, whatever honestly. Both make good gun and can put out a lemon.

Biggest thing is tell him to get the rifle set up how he wants it. Stock, grip, fore end, whatever. Cheaper to buy it like that than upgrade it later.

I've got a Bushmaster and a PSA. I like them both. If he goes with PSA, I recommend one of their premium uppers. Match it with the Classic lower and a PSA premium BCG. Don't forget a charging handle.

Nothing wrong with the Bushmaster either, and that looks like a decent price.
Looks like it also comes with a red dot.

There are a lot of great options out there. I tend to treat it a lot like my bike. If it's something cool and I think it would look great, I may go out and get it. If it's something to do with the performance, I do research. I look around to find exactly what I want. Find out from others how well it performs, how long it lasts and if are there any drawbacks.

Bottom line, make it your own. Don't get something on the fact that Joe Blow down the street has one so it must be good.

I'd not recommend that particular model. No front sight, and no way to easily mount a front sight without changing the gas block. I know it has a red dot, but for that price it's gotta be a pretty low end optic. I run iron sights on all my rifles, and my optics are mostly Aimpoint.
