If he is such a family man, why the hell is he still working at 80 years old? He could have retired at any time and went golfing or stayed home to spend time with his family. But no, they all seem to be so hooked on the power of DC that they can't stay away. They can't bear the reality of giving up the power of their postition.
McCain's first statement after revealing the diognosis was "
    I'll be back"

If someone was 80 , had the best retirement and health care and was diognosed with cancer, I'd figure they would retire and concentrate on getting better and being around family.

Senator Robert C Byrd of WV, stayed in office so long he was a slobbering fool. His staff wiped his mouth when he would drool while sitting down on the floor of the senate. He couldn't give up the power and retire either
    Exactly.

Hmmm.... Term Limits, be a good thang...

What we need is more unemployed politicians.

Problem is, they only work when every state adopts them. Lifelong incumbents like Pelosi ain't gonna let that happen.

    Sad for McCain the man.
McCain the politician can kiss my ass.

It's not so much that they know the man, it's more along the lines that they know his type. Power is a drug to people like him.

I like how everyone thinks they know anything about this man's personal thoughts and family life. His daughter certainly doesn't agree with you. But what does she know, she's not on the internet.
You are right. I never met the man. And have no desire to. And I would expect his daughter to have a different view of him than I. I have seen his type. All I can do is go by what he shows by his actions and deeds. And for quite some years, his suck. For the life of me, I can't see why the Republican party allows Rinos like him to still run under their banner.
I had a real good friend die from brain cancer. 20 years and I still miss her greatly. It is not a pretty way to go and I would wish it on no one.
I give respect to those that have earned it through action or following their word. Since Vietnam, he has done niether to gain that respect. What his family respects him for is between them and him. I know too many Vietnam vets to not respect what he went through. That does not give him a life long pass.

I like how people who would argue with him all day long on everything and insult him in every way, all of a sudden NOW he has BRAIN CANCER and they think he's a genius. Quote him on every thing. Hang on his every word.

Just like Gabby Gifford left wing nut jobs despise her and her gun toting husband, then she get's half her brains blown out and suddenly she is the genius spokes person laying out the law of how gun legislation should be. An expert.

I wouldn't wish the problems they have on either one but nothing about their difficult trials has any thing what so ever to do with the legitimacy of their positions. If half a brain or less was an attribute, Maxine Watters would have been president a long time ago.

After watching him sell out his fellow Americans at every chance, insult them when they protest, hide from criticism behind his POW status, and generally live as a detestable asshole with no honor or integrity, I honestly don't feel even the smallest drop of sympathy. He doesn't give the smallest shit about us, so I return the sentiment. **** him.

Yea, Senate had to wait for him to allow them to keep Obammacare (for us, they are exempt) AND so many could vote without reaping the voter's wrath. All planned and paid for.

This asshattery underscores exactly why the 17th Amendment is a failed experiment. Fix it, and fix it now before the populist judicial trend destroys the Republic completely.
