I agree with you guys, no matter what they call it, it is still a recall. I am trying to keep up with what is going on with this recall since ICE was going to transition from the P229 to the P320 and Sig had the agency send all the guns back. Since this will be my wife's duty carry I hope they do fix this problem.

A rose by any other name........ Doesn't really matter to me what they call it. I do like the looks of the new trigger and if it doesn't really change the feel or the way it shoots, that's cool with me. I still like it and I still carry it and hope to after the upgrade/recall.

Wouldn't this mean that any gun not tested under the same scientific protocol should be considered unsafe? Or should we have different standards for different manufacturers?

What we have learned from this, naybe, is that every firearm should be drop tested at every possible angle just to be sure they are 100% safe. Of course, that would require that the gun would be subject to 46,656,000 drops at every possible angle. That does not include half degrees and changing the height of drop for each angle.

Being a reasonable guy, I would be happy if they just did half as many drops so I can feel safe.

my 1911 fires if I drop it on the safety and then drop it on a clothes hanger right on that thing that moves inside the trigger guard

The people that have series 70 1911's understand the drop issue as one of "spring strength", "firing pin mass" and force from the impact. Given the right circumstances the series 70 1911 will fire when dropped. Now, we also know that the combination is such on the quality guns (before any modifications) is so unlikely to happen as to be a non-issue for most of us. It appears that the Sig P320 is in the same category but without the long track record of the Series 70 1911. Also, the 1911 guns are rarely sold as "every day service" guns like Glock or M&P. I would think that the government contracts would need to have an intensive retesting against the other guns that were under consideration before any Sig P320 was issued.

I don't see the point in all this... Sig is not having massive issues all while FN is selling their MHS option to the civilion world. It's yet to have said any issues, if any would be minor

I'm not in a hurry, although looking at and hearing about the new trigger it really does sound like an upgrade, so I am looking forward to getting the new one. Other than that, I still carry it with no real fear of any AD.

I am looking forward to the new upgraded trigger now as well. I have read reports from organizations that have got to fire an upgraded P320 and they said the trigger is even better.

Not sure I understand what the FN509 has to do with this issue?
