Holy crap, I didn't know it was that bad after Newtown. I assume Newtown? Or was this right before Obama?

At this point it really doesn't matter what the reason was, just glad things have turned around.
At least I'm at a good price point for my 60+ pmags, lol....

I assume you have to test fire some rounds for reliability just like handgun hollow points? How many rounds typically?

Same question for a 12 gauge 00 buckshot for my mossberg 590a1. Any ball park number to test fire?

Could just get a Colt OEM and customize it the way you want. There's not many ppl who like the standard A2 pistol grip or M4 handguards.

The SOCOM model comes with a Knights RAS and the medium contour M4A1 barrel. The most recent batch have 14.5" barrels with pinned flash hider and M203 mounting cuts on the barrel. Other than those features it's just like any other 6920.

My favorite range ammo is the 55gr Wolf Gold or PMC and Federal FMJ or green tip for defense.

I have a buddy that's willing to sell me his 1000 rounds of American Eagle .223 55GR for 25cents/round. I'll probably just pick those up for now.

Thanks! Anyone know a good brand of self defense hollow points 5.56 for the sport 2?
You'll have to use .223 for anything other than FMJ. Here are a few that I recommend.

    Speer Gold Dot 62 gr

Keep in mind that most rifle hollow point ammo is match ammo that isn't designed for SD or hunting.

Most good self defense ammo is marked as such or hunting ammo will work too.

Buying ammo for your handgun and rifle is just a little different in that regard.

I would try and pick up a used aimpoint Pro at some point. They are awesome. Though I kinda want to get a micro dot.

You have a nice carbine with iron sights. If you plan to use this for home defense I would stick with the iron sights. And buy a CREE LED tactical light. To mount on your gun. The mount can be really fancy or just a piece of electrical tape. Either way you can illuminate the area ID the threat and save the day.

If you want to add a red dot scope I would buy an Aimpoint or Primary Arms red dot. I don't know the guys you selected but no-name red dots are a real gamble. Some are fair while others break at the first firing. Some are Made for rifles and others airsoft. You won't know until you shoot it. All my home defense guns have iron sights and Some additionally have aimpoints.

Anyone have a good experience with a close quarter combat scope/sight?

I guess it's unclear what you are actually looking for and it's intended purpose? If you'll be routinely conducting actual CQB operations on the job, then assume price is not a factor and you'll be needing something NVG (IR) compatible? Ranges of intended engagement? Need any magnification?
