Texas Gun range is 30.06 and 30.07 posted. Don't see any reason to go there.

Most gun ranges prefer you not walk in holstered because holster fire is not allowed at most ranges. You can spend your money at alpine where they kick you out for having FMJ... I don't walk into a gun range with a loaded weapon out of courtesy, respect, and safety.

Prefer and posting are two different things in my mind. I can understand the courtesy and respect you are providing, but am not sure about the safety aspect. I carry a loaded pistol every day concealed, and have for years. I haven't had any safety issues. I've also carried concealed into more than one range and never had any safety issues.

If the range doesn't want any holster work done, I'm fine with that and that particular pistol stays in it's holster just like it does every other day of the week. It hasn't gone off by itself yet.

The only outdoor range I have been to is in Weatherford. Texas Tactical. Pistol: yes, Rifle: yes, Shotgun: yes, NFA: not positive, but I think so.
They do have rifle out to 300 yds also. If you decide to head out there, PM me, always looking for an excuse to go play outdoors.

Texas Tactical allows suppresses and SBRs. Don't know about MGs if you are lucky enough to own one of them.

I know it's a little further out, but I'm surprised nobody has mentioned ETTS. It's in Waxahachie. I live in Crowley and it takes 45 mins to get there but is well worth the trip.
It's $20 for non members and you can shoot all day. All outdoor bays...you basically grab a bay you like (some are set up for pistols only, others rifle, others tactical). Nobody messes with you, you can work from the holster, shoot any ammo (except on their steel targets). Has a 100 and 200 yard zero range plus a 1000 yard long range (you have to do a qualifier for this).
Owner is good peoples and they are continuously improving it. They do competitions I think every other weekend. Only downside is on the weekends you can sometimes be waiting a while to get a bay. Or at least the one you want.

Had not heard of them before, and they're practically next door. Although it looks on the map to be closer to Maypearl than Waxahachie.

Just a word of warning. The boys in blue in Maypearl like to pull folks over for the slightest violation, so watch your speed and come to a full stop if you hit a stop sign.

You should check them out, you won't regret it. It's my favorite place to shoot in the DFW area. And because it's further out and you kind of have to know about it, you avoid more of the fools you run into at most of the places in the cities.
Yeah it's maybe like 2 miles out of Maypearl, but it's a Waxahachie address. And I know what you mean, Maypearl is one of the few places I actually slow down in.

I stopped by ETTS last weekend and toured the place. It is a pretty nice place, with some friendly folks running it. There was also some pretty nice scenery that day with the "Diva" shoot going on. You have to be a member to shoot at the Long range, $59 a month or $600 a year, and it is currently set up out to 1200 yards with steel set up ever 100 yards from 300 out to 1200 yards.
I'll probably join up out there in a couple month's. It cost me more in gas to go up to the ranch and shoot in 10 trips.

ETTS is around an hour south, Pistol bays, Tac bays, zero range and a 1200 yd steel range.
Membership is cheaper than its main competitor, Triple C at Cresson which is also a good facility, with a lot more long range stuff.
    Both are NFA friendly

When I went they were shooting AK47s & AR15s lots of pistols & shotguns . Call Decatur and see it used to be open to whatever !! All the Yankees might have changed it , they don't want anything free !!!
