    just grabbed this off amazon. Not sure how I feel about it, so haven't opened it yet.

    Looking for something I can carry horizontal, cross-draw, under $40.

    Anything ringed or with some sort of deep index finger groove to ensure it doesn't slip should I need to use the tip vs the blade.
    Also looked at the Ka Bar LE knife, but the added cost of needing a holster kinda kills it. Strictly a backup knife, so I'm not looking to spend a gazillion bucks

    Looks like a fun little knife. They are great for opening cardboard boxes. Watch a few videos on how to use a karambit and practice a little and you will be all set.
