    After 4 years working Air Force Security, that is a major regret of mine that I never saw a Blackbird in person
    I got up close to one on static display at NASA in Huntsville AL back in the late 90s.
    Much smaller plane than I'd ever imagined.
    Maybe 1/2 the size any video led me to believe.

    I met a man who flew one with the CIA back in the late 60s
    Very interesting fellow
    He said once after a mission they had to sit inside for 35 min with APUs on because the skin of the plane was so hot it needed to cool down before they could exit

    Pilots said that touching the cockpit window during an extended flight could burn your hand (even with gloves on) if left in contact too long.
