So......before the hurricane...I retired my EDC of 16 years Colt Defender and replaced it with a Colt New Agent..........

    I hope I can make the adjustment.......lol...

I had picked up this New Agent in a trade...always wanted one for the collection and it had Novak sights and not the trench sight....the front strap on my Defender is worn smooth after many years...so smooth I no longer get a firm grip with it when shooting it. I had sent it to Clark Custom Gun and they told me it didn't have enough "meat (metal)" on the front strap to checker it.

The New Agent isn't checkered but does have grooves vertically and I do get a better grip and groups with it....basically same size and weight as the Defender so I haven't noticed a difference in carrying it. It doesn't have a true beaver tail like the Defender but it hasn't bit me, which with my fat hands can be a problem..

Thanks, I thought they were the same size. I've had a Defender for several years and really like it. I've got the laser grips on it and am really pleased (regardless of what all the nay-sayers say about 1911s, etc.) :green:
I used to be one of those nay-sayers. Figured the 1911 was a peice of ancient history. But my last 2 EDC's have been 1911's.
