Projeciles showed up today. Rolled up 18 test rounds. Will run them next weekend at the ranch.

Up early, cleaned my bench off and loaded about 75 .45 acp before work. 5 year old decided to wake up at 230 am.

This weekend I sized 500 or so 9mm and primed them. Also sized a little over 200 223. This week I'll work on primer pockets and trimming them. I did also find that one of my bottles of RCBS case lube seems to have split at the seam! Everywhere I would set it down there would be a puddle of lube under it. Finally stuck it in a plastic tray to catch it all.

That could have been a bigger mess if you missed it.

    Drug out the rockchucker.
Full length resized some .243 brass donated by one of our more generous members.
I'd honestly forgotten how much force that press generates.
One case off center on the shellholder and ...
Oops. Straight to the scrap bucket.

Loaded 300 rounds of fmj for ar today. Haven't loaded fmj for while, but this was a special case. In 45 minutes I was picking up the brass. Bought a Franklin Armory binary trigger.I'm not a big fan of mag dumps but I really like the double tap. I did dump the last two.
60 rounds in 12 seconds with a mag change. With practice I can see under 10 seconds easy.

I did the first couple times and thought maybe it just leaked out the top and ran down the side. There's no way to make that not sound dirty. But I picked up a pound of 335. Going to pickup some vmax tonight and load them up.

Anyone ever used h4198 on 223? I have about a half pound left from my 7.62x39 days. I know there's loads for it but f I recall it doesn't burn rght for the cartridge or something. All I have used for 223 is h335.

H335 is great for 223. Almost all I use. I do have some lighter bullets I used W748 with.

I've only loaded 50, 52, 53, and 55gr. All used h335. Just curious if it would be worth using the 4198 or if I should just use that for something else.

I have never used w748 for anything though. Is it not good for heavier bullets?

H4198 will work for AR loads but isn't the best choice. You are correct, the burn rate and pressure curve are not optimal for that system.

I have a ton of 748, and I had some 50 g bullets that I loaded with it. They shot great. I don't think the 4198 is good for small rounds. I would save that for another round.

Just saw Dawico said the same thing on 4198.

I am. I've used it on 50g 223 rounds, but mostly on 308 rounds. It seems I used it on something else, but can't remember what it was. Maybe 300 Savage.
