I guess it was just a matter of time for this to come. Silencers, suppressors, moderators, mufflers of whatever have been used on air rifles for a long time. They aren't firearms and neither are black powder muzzle loaders. The real question is what has taken so long?
All comes down to control. Plus they had to give the prohibitioners a job after it was repealed, solution: stupid firearms laws.

Yup. I've read all about how the NFA came about and that all the prohibition G-men needed to keep a job in the depression and so they just made something else illegal for them to watch.

Ordered one within two hours of the email and got a back ordered reply. One to six weeks. Never shot a muzzle loader before so no hurry.

I've heard they work ok for a while. The oil filters work best when they're "wet", but need to be periodically replaced. Their biggest drawback is their size. You need some pretty tall sights to be able to see over the filter. As they are now, I don't consider them worth it. If they were JUST $50 (no tax stamp), then I'd probably get one to fool around with.
I have seen the adapters at gun shows for under $20. Every size imaginable available.
