I tried to like my XD45 and my XDm 9mm but I prefer Glocks. There was nothing wrong with the XD line but Glocks have so many options for customization. Glocks aren't for everyone but they are perfect for me.

yeah, i really like the XD line due to grip angle and the false security of a grip safety.

I would like to absolutely bastardize/bubba/tacticool a glock though. Another member on here has one for sale that's done very subtly and I like it.

LMAO speaking of tacticool, I forgot my 72 year old father has the 10mm subcompact he bought on consignment.

ported/Cerakoted slide and barrel, beavertail, trigger, guiderod lase, stippled with the punisher skull, and who knows what else. My dad added the beavertail and he also got a 357sig barrel for it. I suppose next time I drive out to CA it'll end up being mine
He's got an impressive collection, and as he ages he realizes they are best kept in a young Texan's hands lol.

Yeah, G26, G19, G17, G31, G36, G21. They will shoot, shoot and shoot, but I can't say I really like any of them. They improve with trigger work, but the grip is pretty much the same on all. I much prefer shooting my 1911's or my Walther PPQ's.

I have a 3rd gen G22, it is modified quite a bit, and has been my hunting sidearm for over 20 years now. It has put down hundreds of pigs, and some other varmints along the way. Trijicon sights, titanium pins, reworked trigger, cerakoted slide, extended controls and more.

I carry a G43 pretty regularly. It only has an improved connector and Trijicon sights.

I'm wanting a G34 just to shoot steel with, having a bunch of doing that lately.

I just bought a universal press on Amazon.

It works well, and was reasonably priced.

You cannot force it, and must use spacer blocks to facilitate your slide.

Take your time, be patient, and it works fine.

If you want one you can just whip a slide into and spin the handle, be prepared to part with some cash. I couldn't bear to spend that much for a tool that I will use a couple of times a year for myself and friends.

So do any of you Glock owners recommend a specific sight press to change out the stock sights?

I picked one up off Amazon for about $60, have used it on 4 of mine and two of my brother's to install adjustable sights. Works like a charm, not a single scratched slide in the bunch.

Looks like price has dropped $15 since I picked up mine. Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HU4NNDE

I've built 4 "Glocks" from the 80% poly kits; 3 in .40 and one in .22LR for practice.

If do have one lonely 1911 in the closet (it was actually the first handgun I ever bought.. over 30 years ago), but I mostly shoot Glock 40's.

    I hope you love it!

I want one of those (the 19) for my eldest son. Within the next year I want to come up with one for a graduation present for him. He has gone to college early (working on his Associate’s Degree now) and I think that a tool for self defense would be a wonderful coming into adulthood present.

He is an experienced shooter (Steel Challenge matches since he was 12) and very responsible.
