I have been a Seahawks fan since they started, but when Bennett started in I just got mad at him. Now it's gone viral throughout the NFL and the NFL does nothing, it just goes to show that the fans of football mean nothing to them. All those players would be nothing without football and their fans. I'm sure I'm not the only one that said "enough is enough". American football is as American as it gets, yet those that profit from it snub their nose at all Americans.

I saw something at work this past friday that I have never thought about. I work in an office setting surrounded by nerdy types(IT field) and every friday people who watch football wear jerseys. Its funny to see that normal men won't be wearing jerseys or even watch sports anymore. Then all of the guys with man buns and who speak with an effeminate accent will be talking about the game last night lol. The whole world has gone batshit crazy. Ten years ago the nerds would have been talking about computers or something else and we would have been talking about football. This is the NFL's new target audience. Just ask NASCAR how that shit is working out for them.

I think they've convinced themselves that we don't matter.
Or that they matter, so much more, than the rest of us.
To be honest, I haven't followed sports for twenty years now. We "pulled the plug" on the TV (antenna, cable, etc.) cause our daughter wasn't doing her homework due to the distraction.
However, as of right now, any eating establishment with ESPN or NFL/MLB on the wall won't be getting my business

They have the right to not stand or even play the anthem, just as you have the right to not watch it. It's all a distraction though, from another failure to modify Obamacare. As long as you are aware of that.
That's why the right play for these teams is to not have the players on the field during the Anthem. It cuts the legs right out from under this kind of bullshit. And the teams and team owners DEFINITELY have the right to keep this kind of bullshit from affecting the league and fan support by keeping the teams in the locker room.

As for a distraction from Obamacare, nice headfake.

Interesting comments. Less than two weeks ago, I said something to my BIL about the Chiefs (he lives in a burb of KC). Well, you could have just about knocked me over with a feather when he told me, “I don’t know... I’m not watching pro football this year.” You’d have to know him but to say he’s a sports nut is an understatement! This is a MAJOR lifestyle change for him. He told me he’s just fed up with the anti-American stuff going on. And Bob isn’t a patriotic fanatic or anything like that. Just about as “normal” of a guy as you’d ever meet. Well, I decided he had a good point so my TV is off this Sunday and will be the rest of this season. It’s enough!
Just like Hollywood actors commenting on and passing judgmental opinions on things political, I don’t need fabulously, high-paid ‘sports figures’ making political protest statements either. I pay ‘actors’ AND ‘athletes’ for their professional performance; NOT for their political commentary! They have 1st Amendment Rights just like everyone else - BUT I DO NOT have to support them with my hard earned money (hint: And I don’t)!

It's an epic headfake and the media fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

Edit: in general I can't stand most professional sports at this point.
Sorry guys my phone auto corrects and I do not always catch it.
