Considering the fact that I'm always driving across this state, I guess for me it would be a commander sized 1911. Since that is what I'm always wearing when I drive across the state now.
Just a driving Road trip? Probably my Glock 19. It goes on most trips.
If we are going hunting or shooting along the way I might go with a 5.25” Ruger Super Blackhawk. Particularly if we are heading out to big bend.

Unfair question! You didn't mention what I might be doing other than driving (riding), which could be any number of things which could call for any number of guns. If all I am going to do is ride and come back later then I don't see any reason to bring anything other than my EDC.
