"Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez has ordered her office to honor all federal immigration detention requests placed on local jail inmates after a federal appeals court ruling on Monday allowed parts of the controversial “sanctuary cities” ban Senate Bill 4 to go into effect.
"The appellate court’s order essentially undoes a signature policy of Hernandez’s campaign for sheriff that became a flash point for the Texas GOP this year. Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office said it will begin enforcing that portion of the law immediately."
