Bought a new Savage Axis II (.308) with Weaver Kaspa scope on it. Was thinking about swapping the Leupold for the Weaver. Leupold is on a Remington 742 Woodsmaster. Not exactly a fine precision firearm but otherwise has been a typical reliable Remington. I reckon it would do fine with the Weaver. Just don't know nothing about the Weaver. Looks like a plastic body tube. I plan to sell the Remington as I don't need another big gun.

    Opinions welcome.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm at the range today sighting the Weaver. I will keep the Leupold and sell the Remington. You read my mind.

FYI... the Savage Axis recoil pad is crap. Got an ice bag on my shoulder. But otherwise like how it shoots.
