This is all old tarnished range brass. I ran it all through my dry media and it looks better but still dark. I've seen how his comes out when it's done.

I switched to crushed walnut hulls. They sell a 30 lb bag at Petco for $12. I add some Flec to it, and they look like new. The walnut does a much better job than the corn cob media.

I've never used anything but crushed walnut hulls with the chrome polish in it. I'll post a picture when I figure out how.

Got it. Last batch of 40

You'll be amazed if he is using SS pins. They will polish the brass inside and out to a bright shine. I like it because it cleans the inside as well as the primer pocket. I just deprime and toss them in for about 2 hrs, then take them out, rinse them and let them dry (food dehydrator is quicker but I havent bought one yet). They come out looking brand new. I used to use walnut hulls with the red rouge, and, while it worked, they were still dirty inside and in the primer pocket. I also got tired of cleaning pieces of walnut shell out of the flash hole.

Ive got a batch to do in the next few days. Ill try and get before and after pics.

Excuse my ignorance... What are y'all talking about when you say "ss pins"? I've only polished using walnut or corn media.
Wet tumbling brass using small stainless steel pins.
Yep, a whole different way to clean brass.

The deprimed brass, stainless steel pins, water, dish soap, and usually Lemishine go in a sealed unit that tumbles it all.

When they are done, usually in a half hour or so, the brass comes out literally looking like new. Primer pockets and inside are spotless as well.

And no, stainless steel pins will not work in your regular tumbler. They are too heavy and just sit in the bottom. It must be a rotary action to keep it all mixed up.

The brass comes out so clean with SS pins. But there's more work involved when cleaning with the pins. So lazy me usually cleans with walnut.

Ran a batch of brass using ss pins last night. Here are the before pics. All that was done to them was being deprimed:

And here are the after pics. :

SS pins, a small squeeze of meguiars wash and wax, and a tiny pinch of lemishine and enough water to cover it all. Put them in at 10:30 last night and took them off at 8 this morning. They will look like that in about 2 hrs, but I normally just run them overnight. I seperate them with the same seperator I used to use for walnut media, rinse them, and i picked up a dehydrator last night to dry them.

I tested my first 44 Magnum reloads today. I now have a really mild plinking load that works well in my Redhawk, and my Marlin 1894. I also have a really good super hot load that makes the rifle feel almost like my 45-70, and somehow moves and misaligns the wooden pistol grips.

I finally got to depriming shotgun hulls. Got about 250 done yesterday. Not bad considering I don't even have the press bolted down... Was just holding it on the floor with my feet messing around!

Also traded a box of 250 vmax 224 for a box of 500 zmax 224.

Planning on loading up some shells this week.

Not really reloading, but with a new black powder bang stick on the way, I figured I might better make up some more powder.
