    It just slides out.
    Not on mine it doesn't!
    It's stuck in there like its locked.I assume it works loose
    Mine was a pita at first, but loosened up after time. Not sure how they're made now, but on mine (20 yrs ago), you could unscrew it a bit to be less tight.
    Wipe the bacon grease off your fingers first!

    .... (I) found that it's simply too small for my hands; I couldn't grip it securely. I know it doesn't require a firm grip but it was more than that. It was so small it simply felt awkward in my hand.
    I have the opposite problem. Maybe I just have small hands but it seems so large when I hold mine.
