What's the best place to find good deals and selection on used guns in DFW? Prefer it if the shop is toward the northeast side of the Metroplex, but whatever. I've spent time at Rifle Gear (nice shop for new guns), Cabela's and Bass Pro, Runner Runner in McKinney, Front Sight (just closed their doors), but where else are the can't-miss shops?

    Thanks!!

There is a pawnshop off of Singleton I think it was...not bad during the day but would have backup in that area at night. I forget the name of it. I haven’t been there in years.

    You're thinking of Ray's Sporting Goods http://www.rayssportinggoods.com/

They used to be highly overly priced and the place never seemed to be clean. Went back about 2 years ago and was very surprised, the store was clean, well lit, organized and the prices were reasonable - even bought a pistol while there. But I wouldn't go there after dark!

GT Distributors (both the DFW and Austin locations) are one of the few dedicated gun shops that are competently run like businesses.

    Really highly recommended

Wonder if Chuck is still there? While unkempt is the word I would use sometimes the pricing wasn't bad. A friend decided he had to have a Winchester Model 12 Trap Model back in the 80's. They were rare when made but Chuck pulled one out of the back room, NIB. $800, not bad really.

Depends on what type of used gun you're looking for. There are a few pawn shops around that have a large selection, but with used, it's all hit and miss.

GT distributors is a great place to pick up used police type weapons, and other stuff in general.

Some plastic pistols are just about as cheap new as they are used, so again, it depends on what you're looking for.
