    This year when I bought my hunting license, I didn't get a combo. NOW, my grandkids want me to go fishing with them. I know just buying a fishing license (65+) is not a big investment, but I have been wondering if I can add the fishing license to my hunting license for the combo price or will I have to fork over the full amount for a separate fishing license.

    AFAIK you need to pony up for the fishing license. I always get the combo with all of the extras and even if I don't use some portions. I figure it's a contribution to preserve Texas wild life and habitat.

    IIRC, the cost of a basic combo license is just about equal to the cost of buying them separate. If not exactly equal.

    Maybe I'm mistaken though. Haven't been fishing on public waters in a while so haven't bothered with both.

    The regular combo is 50. Bought separately it's $55. I usually get the super combo which is $68 and has all of the endorsements except duck stamp I think. But I pay $32 because I'm a geezer

    Selling those is a big part of my job.
    No you can not get the combo price once you buy part of it. But over 65 license is only $12. Cheap enough for some outdoor fun with kids.

    I was pretty sure that I couldn't get the "discount" for the fishing part of the combo once I had purchased the hunting license Just thought I'd put it up here to see if anyone could confirm that. Yes, I think I can invest $12 in taking my grandkids fishing. I've certainly spent more than that on myself many times.
