I tested 2 of my shotgun loads today. I was expecting mediocre results at best. I shot a dozen of each and used some winchester value pack for comparison. Both of my loads we're tighter and smaller patterns and had a little less felt recoil. I have 225 of my AA loads and have enough shot for another 100 or so. Going to need to get another bag of shot I suppose.

Loading some 147gn 9mm today and as I set a bullet on a case I noticed that it wasn't belled. Turns out it's a 9 MAK. I guess if it had snuck through it wouldn't have been a big deal. It sits too far in the chamber so it might not even light off.

Hell a mak is 9.2mm if I remember correctly. It shouldn't even chamber in a 9

It's just a little shorter. It was sized and seated the bullet just fine.
I see. I guess once it's sized it's prolly fit. I have a hand full of them I've pulled out of my 9mm brass. My favorite pistol was a makarov I strongly regret ever selling. I figure if I ever get another I'll at least have a little brass laying around.

I have found the extractor will hold shorter cases against the breech face and allow them to fire. It wouldn't hurt anything though if it did fire.

I maybe need to hand load some different 300 BLK loads for my new pistol. I've got to try some other mags 'cause the bolt is not picking up the 212 grain Hornadays because I suspect they are subsonic and not providing enough pressure to bring the bolt back far enouth. I've got the lightest buffer weight in it now and it shoots great, just isn't picking up the next cartridge. If that doesn't work, I'll need to go to a lighter spring or a different load. I don't want to enlarge to port in the barrel to allow more pressure if I don't have to. Anybody got any other ideas?

Have you tried an adjustable gas block? You need more gas into the operating system with a subsonic load to cycle the bolt.

It's got an adjustable gas block on it. When I first tried the loads, the bolt would only come about half way back past the next round in the mag. When adjusted all the way out, the bolt would cycle all the way back but wouldn't pick up the next round and push it into battery. I may need a softer spring. I'm not crazy about drilling the barrel port to the gas block. If that's what it takes after I run out of options, I'll have it done.
