    Gunz are icky.
New hotness arrived after several months wait.
    Colt-Paterson reproduction by Pietta.
Five-shot .36 single action. Nine inch barrel.
Replica of the gun the early Texas Rangers used against the Commanche.

Easy Rider, they call it a Paterson because it was made in Paterson, N.J.

I am happy for you Moonpie. I like to see somebody get what they want.

I just have no use or particular affection for it.

That's not to say I won't shoot it though.

Enjoy and post some target pics with no holes in them.

    Gunz are icky.
Its an interesting bit of firearm tech.
Easy to see how vastly better a design the later Walker and Dragoons were.
Gonna be fun to shoot it.

Very nice. Do you have to disassemble it to reload?

    Yes.
Using the original loading tool the barrel must be removed but the cylinder is still on the arbor.
Its easier to just remove the cylinder and use a loading press. I already do this with all my cap&ball revolvers.

No wonder N. J. doesn't like guns. Pretty paperweight.

Don't get your panties in a wad, just kidding.
Captain Jack Hays begs to differ.

Those were (and are) gorgeous wheel guns. I had the privilege of examining an original Paterson #5 (Texas Model) about 50 years ago in Mexico.
