Who buys a $250 AR for reliability?
I would imagine it goes bang, probably even cycles and feeds most of the time.

Not me.. $29.99 was what I bought a bunch for a while back from Copes, they were selling both uppers and lowers at that price then and have yet to see it ever go lower then that.
