I've been wanting one of these for the longest, but of all the times I've sent in rebates, I've only gotten about 10% paid back. So I'm out. But maybe someone else here is interested...

I've been lucky with rebates, but I'll be honest, I only buy a deal with a rebate if the deal without the rebate is pretty good to start with. I bet it's an awesome gun.

We're working as quickly as possible to bring the site back up. We can't stress this enough but we've done everything in our power to prevent the site from crashing beforehand and all of the traffic ultimately crashed it. Please bear with us as we try to remedy this and make sure we take care of every customer affected by us dropping the ball.

    Tinfoil hat time:
I think southpaw works for the democrats. He's an undercover agent sent to entice us with good deals so we'll buy guns and go broke. Once we're broke, they ban the guns and we're left broke with no guns.

they'll catch hell for this, same with the 9mm oos before anyone could buy it.. my guess is people with scripts and bots got the deals... They're going to suffer serious PR for screwing the pooch on this and they deserve to as this is the second year in a row their site crashed... I will probably never buy from them because of this and won't recommend them to friends. Shit like this can sink your company.

so you think they should up the bandwidth they normally use to 10X as much year round for a 1 day sale. ISP don't for the most part let you boost your bandwidth for 1 day.

Its like them having 2 phone lines and offering the deals as call in only.

It is what it is for me. It was a $250 AR and I knew going in quantities would be extremely limited compared to the demand. I don't think it shines a bad light on a company when it's a technical problem. I guess I looked at it as more of a lottery of sorts then an actual done deal.

Some people on their FB page just seemed like they were entitled to this deal. I was happy I didn't have a FB account and could only view.

It only shines a bad light when they said they were prepared for this (because the same thing happened last year) and I can understand the AR quantities.. but Ammo? They were out of Ammo at the beginning of the sale? No one got ammo no one reported getting the sale price... It sounds like a bait and switch to me.

As for ISP bandwidth, that's not how servers or websites work. The webmaster here could explain it to you in detail but they could have absolutely upped their capability for a week at a not ridiculous cost. If they are running the server out of the shop and blaming an ISP for their hosting failures they deserve to go out of business and I'll gladly work to put them there.
