Deanna Jo, loving mother of two adorable boys, Veteran, Activist and friend in liberty, was arrested in NYC on Nov 11 while traveling from Texas, when her self-defense handgun was discovered in her vehicle. Please help us free her from Rikers.

I thought some here might be willing to help out a fellow Texan. Concealed is concealed, but sometimes things happen.

Not legal, Texas has a unilateral agreement with New York; which means Texas Honors that state’s LTC but New York does not!

Honestly I don't care about NYC laws or whatever they think is legal. It is blatantly a violation of the 2nd amendment and of human rights, regardless of what some judge somewhere thinks. I'm more concerned with helping a fellow Texan behind enemy lines than I am about the "legality" in NYC.

You can state what you wish is reality all day, but the fact is carrying a handgun in that state without proper licensing in that state is illegal.

    Again, who doesn't know that?

I'll never fault anyone for breaking unjust laws, and I'll do what I can to help those who get jammed up for doing so.

The state and the law are not God, it would help us all if more so-called conservatives would stop worshiping the state.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid the handgun issue may be the least of her troubles. Article says the Ex called the cops as soon as the kids got in his house.

Glass half empty me is thinking he's going to a lawyer now looking for sole custody because mom is a criminal. (case will be filed there in NY I'm sure)

    I wish her the best.

A tough lesson. Is it unjust law? Absolutely, but things are what they are. Anyone planning to travel carrying a firearm really needs to plot out their course and check both the state and city laws for transporting a firearm. There a several cities that I can think of off the top of my head that I would avoid and NYC tops the list. They have even had stories on MSM of people being thrown in jail for doing just that in NYC.

They are already in a nasty custody battle that lead to her high profile arrest (and subsequent acquittal) from an incident up in Hunt County in March 2015...

The officer then states they have a warrant to take custody of the child and Robinson asks to see the order. The officer then attempts to enter the residence, but Robinson tries to force the door closed. The officer hands the folder containing the order to Hunt County Sheriff’s Deputy William Whitten, who again tells Robinson about the order.

Robinson attempts to take the file from Whitten, who snatches it away.

“It was the only copy of the warrant I had and I did not want to give her that,” Whitten testified. “I did not want her to rip it up, thinking it was the only copy we had.”

Sounds like some mighty fine police work; show up on someone's door, claim to have a warrant and then try to play keep away with said warrant and use the lame excuse that "I thought it was the only copy."

No amount of donated money or attorneys will get her out of it......

I avoid the State at all costs.....nothing they like better than to screw over a Texan with a gun there.......

Well, she doesn't have any excuse for her actions either...

"A CPS investigator had previously contacted Robinson, informing her of the order and arranging the time of the serving of the order."

And the officer was "no billed" by a grand jury as well.

Yep, don't travel to NY, Maryland, or NJ, at all

I saw a report this summer, them a-holes in NYC are even trying to jack people up when they fly through there and have to change planes they claim their luggage with a checked firearm and can be arrested for it in the airport when they attempt to recheck it in for the new flight

Put it this way, if I was traveling with a handgun north on I-95 from Florida, if I got close to the Virginia northern border, it's time to turn around.

Under no circumstances would I claim my checked firearm while in NY or NJ. You just get on the next plane and let the airline(s) move it from plane to plane. Yes, I know that making sure your luggage gets from one plane to another is frequently assured only by carrying it yourself. But if your luggage contains a gun and you're in NY or NJ, you just don't touch it.
    • Best case - You ignore the gun and it arrives with you at your final destination.
    • Worst case - You ignore the gun and it's forever "lost".
    • Second worst case - You ignore the gun and it never arrives at your destination but gets shipped back to your origination point where you can eventually claim it.
    • Stupid case - You claim the baggage and go to jail.
    Don't be stupid.

Oh, and if your travel itinerary requires you to take possession of your firearm in NY or NJ, you are incompetent at planning your air travel.
