I had a small incident when I went riding w a group in Leakey, Tex
Involved alcohol/ramp/unlevel terrain/ bad decisions lol
Small dent in tank w 2 patches of paint coming off
My bike is always clean even though I ride a lot , 15,000mi this yr
i found the tank and tail section Already painted on eBay for what I considered reasonable, I’ll try and sell my old stuff for a couple hundred and I’m good
Need to figure out what to do w the 1.5 gal of gas in the old tank

Readjusted the passengers rear door latch on the 420SEL, so that it closes/locks properly (at last).
(I know that that sounds like a simple task but it really isn't as the "old school" S-class sedans & coupes have a combination of electric & vacuum locks/latches & both systems must be adjusted separately/together to work properly.)

Man...where I was. The traffic and speed. I could feel it wiggling. Thought as soon as I stop, Ill pick the dead corpse out my helmet strap. The difficulty came when it didn't stop wiggling. I tried to free it but within 5 seconds that basturd dug in deep. It did get loose and out the strap. After I reached up with gloves to try to get it after it lit me up. My ear was sore for three days.
Now I wear one of those spandex balaclava face thingys. It's in autumn camouflage with a skull print.
To tell the truth. I don't know if it was a paper wasp, honey bee, or a red wasp. Whatever hit me stang like bit¢h.
So it has been a while but I have been working steadily although slowly on the car but haven't been posting updates. I finished the rear end. Removed the old torsen carrier, 3.23 gears and the bearing races, axle bearings and seals. Removed the tone ring from the torsen. Installed the tone ring and new 4.10 ring gear on the new Eaton carrier. Got the pinion and carrier installed, set the clearances and bearing preload. Installed a solid pinion spacer. Installed new axle bearings and seals. Installed a TA stud kit and cover.
factory 110a alt was pushing about 11.2v
on a 6.0 it could easily destroy the ficm, injectors, and anything else it wants to lol

puts out a whopping 170a at idle
still need to upgrade my wiring.
Tossed in a new pair of Walmart batteries as well. Gotta bring the old ones back to Costco

Thanks. It's my first time installing a r&p/carrier but I always do thorough due diligence before starting projects so I was somewhat prepared. I intend to re-gear my wrangler sometime in the future so this was good practice.
I'll try to get pictures of the car with its current stance. I still have pictures of the suspension upgrades to post. :-)
