Any chance anybody want to to go halfsies on a 33# keg of pistol powder at $10/lb? Trying to get a shipping quote now. He's also offering 3 kegs for $1000 shipped.

I was working some 223 brass last night. I used a 3 way trimmer then cut the crimp off with the cutter I'm my drill. One of the case mouths was sharp enough to cut through my gloves and into my hand. I'll be removing crimps first from now on.

Loaded 25 rounds of .308 to finish off a box of bullets. Annealed the cases to compare SDs. If I screw them up it's no problem. Primer pockets are pretty much shot in them anyways.

Found a new box of .243 70gr SMKs I didn't know I had so I loaded 5 round lots at .5gr intervals from 39-41.5gr Varget. Gonna shoot them Saturday and see how they do. Just running them in a 20 year old Savage model 11. It's put out some stupidly small groups with 80gr soft points but hates anything heavier. Hopefully it will like these, even though there's really no point in working up match loads for a hunting rifle.

Been reaming some 223 pockets. I'm using my drill but it's still a pain holding the brass. I'm getting 100-200 a day for the last few days though. I'm trying to keep my hands busy but not cramping up. I'm much too young to be this damn old.

I've also got a deal worked out with a couple other guys for the kegs of gunpowder, too. It'll be a couple weeks before we get that going though.

Anybody ever use accurate #5? With this much I shouldn't have to buy pistol powder again! Gonna have to change all my loads to this powder!

    Nitrite gloves from home depot.
Real good grip without undue muscle pressure.

I picked up some of the cotton gloves with the rubber coating on them. They worked ok for a bit until they got full of lube. The bigger problem was just my hands getting sore.

After prepping 75 pieces of rifle brass I was really thinking about how nice one of those case prep centers would be.

Right! I'm cheap though, and resourceful. I picked up a motor and some parts from work. I'm gonna see if I can't tap the motor shaft to home my reamer bit. At least then I can mount it to my bench and not have to use both hands while reaming.

Man - I got one of those RCBS primer pocket swagers - beats the HE double hockey sticks off of reaming them.

In keeping with the thread - loaded a pile of .38 special cowboy loads.

Got a $50 Cabelas gift card so I took advantage of the sales and upgraded from my 20 year old vibratory tumbler.

That was only $50? I have a $100 card from my bday still. Been wondering what to get with it.

Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk

It was $120. The gift card took it down to $70 out of pocket. Just finished my first load of brass. Just few some mixed stuff in there. .243, 300BO, BMG. It's all clean inside and out. A little fouling at the very bottom of the BMG brass on the inside. 300BO cases can fall through the separator endcaps but not a big issue.

Next up will be a magnet to make getting the pins back easier, but it wouldn't be hard to come up with a strainer system to drain off the water and leave the pins.
