If JFK called the American people shitholes? I think that would have changed the meaning all together. Really not a very good example.

But maybe you should consider channeling your frustration at the unnamed source making the claim that Trump said it, considering named sources are refuting the story.

Sitting with my 9 y/o daughter watching channel 25 news. They start with a story about trumps "racist comments".

She asks "did Trump say something bad about some people?"

I answer "No, he said that certain countries are shit holes"

Her: "are they nice countries"

Me: "no, they're pretty crappy places to live"

Her: "So...he's telling the truth..."
